Great news for travel enthusiasts! From February 2017 it became even easier to come to Belarus, because of a five-day visa-free regime for citizens of 80 countries introduced here.
Before citizens of the following countries could arrive to Belarus without a visa:
Argentina (up to 90 days)
Armenia
Azerbaijan
Brazil (up to 90 days)
Cuba (up to 30 days)
Ecuador (up to 30 days)
Georgia
Israel (up to 90 days in each period of 180 days)
Kazakhstan
Kyrgyzstan
Macao (up to 30 days)
Macedonia (if you have an invitation)
Moldova
Mongolia (up to 90 days)
Montenegro (up to 30 days, if you have an invitation)
Qatar (up to 30 days)
Russia
Serbia (up to 30 days)
Tajikistan
Turkey (up to 30 days)
Ukraine
United Arab Emirates (up to 30 days)
Uzbekistan
Venezuela (up to 90 days)
In February 2017 was approved a list of countries which citizens don’t need a visa for visiting Belarus for 5 days or less. This list includes several countries with already existing visa-free travel regime for more than five days (Argentina, Brazil, Macau). Citizens of these countries should be guided by previous agreements, i.e. visa-free regime for them will be more than 5 days, and there is no need to enter / leave exclusively through the national airport Minsk.

* For countries such as Vietnam, Haiti, Gambia, Honduras, India, China, Lebanon, Namibia, Samoa, it is necessary to have a valid multiple Schengen visa in the passport, or a multiple-entry visa of the United Kingdom or Ireland with a note of entry to the territory of these states, as well as air tickets with confirmation of the departure date from the National Airport Minsk.
Attention!
- The five-day visa-free regime applies only in case of arrival to Belarus and departure from Belarus via the Minsk National Airport. If you are crossing border by train or car, you will need an entry / exit visa! It’s also not possible to arrive to Minsk by plane, and then move by land to a neighboring country without a Belarusian visa.
- The five-day visa-free regime does not apply to citizens arriving from the Russian Federation or flying to the Russian Federation! This is due to the fact that there is no passport control between these countries.
- The first of the five days in Belarus starts counting from the receipt of a note in the document on arrival in Belarus and ends at 0:00. Even if you arrived at 23:55, the first day will be over in five minutes, and the countdown will begin the second day!
- It is necessary to have a passport (the ID card will not accepted), which has a place for entry and exit stamps, as well as about 22 euros for each day of stay. In addition, tourists need medical insurance for at least 10 000 euros. If there is no insurance, it can be arranged directly at the Minsk National Airport.
