From the NFRW Agriculture Subcommittee
In the United States, 97 percent of all farms and ranches are family owned. Those farms and ranches are owned by individuals, family partnerships or family corporations.Just 3 percent are non-family owned corporations.
To this day, many farms and ranches are passed from generation to generation. As they say, "Farming and ranching is in your blood." Little girls and boys dream of becoming the next generation offarmers and ranchers. Farmers and ranchers take great pride in their work.Farming and ranching is not an 8-5 job.
Another old saying that many may recall is, "The work of a farmeris never done."
I have lived the life of beinga farmer for almost 43 years. There is always work to be done!
While enjoying all the food you eat, remember the hard work it took to get foodto your table. Nothing is more important to a farmer or rancher than the fruits of their labor.
