Not every company that appears on Shark Tank succeeds, with or without a Shark, many go out of business. Over the years, 1082 different businesses have appeared in the Tank. 220 of them are out of business. Some fail before they air, some after. Companies that do deals with Sharks go out of business as do companies that don’t. Sometimes the entrepreneurs decide to shutter the business to spend time with family or the business just runs its course.
Other companies go out of business due to bankruptcy or some other financial catastrophe. Still others are outright scams from the get go. While updating the site in the summer of 2021, I compiled the following alphabetized list. The list links to each failed company’s page on Shark Tank Blog.
