Can you put an LS engine in a 350Z? ›

The 350z LS Swap has been around for a long time. It involves putting a General Motors (GM) LS engine into a Nissan 350z, also known as Z33.

Until the 2007 season, the car was powered by a VQ30DETT V6, then a new 4.5L V8 powerplant was developed. The 350Z, with slightly more pedestrian modifications also competed in the GT300 class, having started there even before the Skyline GT-Rs were replaced, by teams such as Endless Sports and Mola.

LS1 motors have been around since the early 90s, and this notorious, affordable block has been swapped into just about everything imaginable since. They've since become the most commonly-swapped variant for 350z's and also the most convenient.
