Introduction

Garmoth’s Heart is a very rare drop in BDO that can be transformed into an Inverted Heart of Garmoth. The Inverted Heart can then be fused onto certain offhand and awakening weapons for extra effects, turning the weapon into a “Fiery” weapon.

How to obtain Garmoth’s Heart

There are 3 different items that are related to the Garmoth’s Heart.

Both Garmoth’s Heart and the Inverted Heart of Garmoth can be bought on the central market. However, since the drop rate is so low, there can be a lot of preorders. I recommend putting a preorder on Garmoth’s Heart as early as possible, and attending as many Garmoth boss spawns as possible.

Exchanging Garmoth’s Bloodstone

Garmoth’s Bloodstone has a chance of being obtained when opening your Garmoth Reward Bundle. Once you have x10 of them, you can exchange them for Garmoth’s Heart (once per family).

The quest is simple to complete and can be obtained from Kukao at Garmoth’s Nest. After obtaining your Garmoth’s Heart, continue with the quest to convert it to an Inverted Heart so that you can fuse it to your weapon.

Changing Garmoth’s Heart to an Inverted Heart

After obtaining Garmoth’s Heart either from the central market or as a drop from Garmoth, you will need to exchange it for an Inverted Heart of Garmoth before you can fuse it to a weapon.

To do this, go to Hughol the Blacksmith in Duvencrune and take the quest [Weekly] Inverting the Energy.

To complete the quest, you will need to hand over the following materials:

Hesed’s Crystal can also be crafted at the Level 2 Duvencrune Weapon Workshop (Duvencrune 5 house – costs 4 CP).

In total, you will need Black Energy Residue x1375

Black Energy Residue can only be obtained by defeating monsters in Dreighan.

Put the items in your storage, then assign a worker to process the materials. It can take a few hours to process all of the materials. Use a Goblin worker to ensure you have the fastest work speed.

Once the Hesed’s Crystals have been crafted, hand over the items to Hughol using the chat option to complete the quest.

You will get an Inverted Energy as a quest reward.

Open the Processing Window (L) and use the heating option to combine the Inverted Energy and your Garmoth’s Heart.

How to fuse your Inverted Heart to a weapon

Speak to your Black Spirit and click “Item Reform” at the bottom. Select your weapon and Inverted Heart of Garmoth, then click the “Reform” button to fuse it to your weapon.

How to remove the Inverted Heart

To remove Garmoth’s Heart, you will need to first buy a Mirror of Equilibrium from Hughol in Duvencrune. The mirror costs 10 million silver if bought from Hughol.

The Mirror can also be bought from any blacksmith NPC in a town/city for 20 million Silver.

You can then speak to Hughol (or any other Blacksmith) and use the “Extraction” then “Extract Reform Stone” option. Place your weapon and the Mirror into the UI and click “Extract”.

• Removing Garmoth’s Heart will return the item to you.

Inverted Heart of Garmoth Questline

A questline was added with the O’dyllita region which rewards you with an Inverted Heart of Garmoth if you complete the entire questline.

• The questline can only be completed once per family.
• This questline is only unlocked if have completed the O’dyllita Main Story Questline.
• You can complete the Chapter quests in any order.
• It requires a bunch of items and takes a long time to complete. The most annoying to obtain are the 400 intact Nouver Scales since they only drop from the Nouver World Boss.

The questline is obtained by speaking to the Black Eyeroot NPC located underground in the Crypt of Resting Thoughts and starts with the quest “Orzeca’s Records: Time of Dragons”.

I recommend setting your auto path to the “Condemner” NPC just south of Crypt of Resting Thoughts, then holding ALT + clicking the Denulo NPC or quest marker to set a safe auto path route into the cave.

Chapter 1 – Star’s End’s Artifact

For the first chapter quest, you must complete the Star’s End main story questline. The last quest in this questline will give you an item called the Fallen God’s Ring.

If you have already completed the questline on your character and deleted or lost the ring, you can speak to Merio at North Kaia Pier in Calpheon to receive another.

After completing this questline, you can hand over the Fallen God’s Ring by taking it back to the Black Eyeroot in O’dylitta.

• You can find the quests in your quest log (O) under the “Main” tab > “[Star’s End] The Lord of Star’s End” and the first quest is called “[Star’s End] Drawn by Fate“
• This first quest can be obtained from Rubin in Calpheon and requires you to have completed the Dreighan Main Story Questline.
• You are required to kill monsters at Star’s End grind spot, this has a recommended AP of 260, and recommended DP of 320.

Chapter 2 – Nouver’s Reverse Scales

For Chapter 2, you need to collect Intact Nouver’s Reverse Scales x400 and then hand them over to the Black Eyeroot.

This is the most time-consuming part of the Inverted Garmoth’s Heart questline since you can only obtain Nouver Scales by defeating the Nouver World Boss, or completing the Weekly quests,

Killing the Nouver World boss will reward you with 5 – 7 Nouver Scales each time.

To unlock the weekly quests, you first need to pick up the Chapter 13 quest from the Black Eyeroot – “[Chapter 13] Alliance and Cooperation” then talk to Blanca Tris at the Narcion node in O’dyllita. This will also complete Chapter 13.

The weekly quests can then be obtained from Blanca Tris. There are 6 quests in total.

Weekly quests reset every Thursday at midnight (00:00 UTC).

Chapter 3 – Pure Hunger

For this chapter, you need to collect Dark Spirit’s Greed x70. This item is obtained by defeating your Dark Rift Bosses.

Hand over the Dark Spirit’s Greed to the Black Eyeroot once you have collected them.

Chapter 4 – Immortal Power

For the Chapter 4 quest, you need to hand over Turo’s Heart x50 to the Black Eyeroot.

Turo’s Heart is dropped from monsters at the Tunkuta grind spot. This is a 2-person grind spot with a recommended AP of 270 and recommended DP of 360.

Approximately 5-6 Turo’s Hearts drop per hour, meaning it should take you just under 10 hours of grinding to complete this chapter.

You can also buy Turo’s Hearts directly from the Central Market to speed up this chapter.

Chapter 5 – Perfect Darkness

Chapter 5 requires you to kill 1,500 monsters at Thornwood Forest.

This is a solo grind spot with a recommended AP of 250 and recommended DP of 320.

You can also enter Marni’s Realm to grind at the spot uncontested for up to 1 hour a day.

Chapter 6 – Breath of Nature

For this Chapter, you need to collect x30 of each of the Spirit Stone Fragments and hand them over to the Black Eyeroot.

These items drop from certain grinding locations in Kamaslyvia.

Chapter 7 – Endless Magic

To complete this quest you need to hand over Hesed’s Crystal x10 to the Black Eyeroot.

• You can buy the Hesed’s Crystal from the central market.

Hesed’s Crystal can also be crafted at the Level 2 Duvencrune Weapon Workshop (Duvencrune 5 house – costs 4 CP).

To make Hesed’s Crystal you will need to process other materials:

In total, you will need Black Energy Residue x2,750

Black Energy Residue can only be obtained by defeating monsters in Dreighan.

Chapter 8 – Latent Aura

Chapter 8 requires you to hand over Concentrated Boss’s Aura x5

Concentrated Boss’s Aura is obtained using Processing (L) > Heating on BASE boss gear. This will consume the item and will give you 1 Boss Aura per piece.

• Weapons: Kzakra Weapons, Kutum Weapons, Nouver Weapons, Offin Tett Weapons, Dandelion Weapons
• Armors: Red Nose’s Armor, Dim Tree Spirit’s Armor, Giath’s Helmet, Griffon’s Helmet, Leebur’s Gloves, Bheg’s Gloves, Urugon’s Shoes, Muskan’s Shoes

Chapter 9 – Honest Enhancement

Chapter 9 requires you to hand over Concentrated Magical Black Gem x100 to the Black Eyeroot.

These are usually available on the Central Market, and can also be crafted using Processing (L) > Simple Alchemy:

• Sharp Black Crystal Shard x1
• Hard Black Crystal Shard x1
• Black Gem x5

Chapter 10 – Hour of Purification

For this quest, you need to hand over Magical Shard x50 to the Black Eyeroot.

You can obtain Magical Shards by Processing (L) > Heating these Black Magic Crystals.

The cheapest and easiest ones to do are usually the Sealed Black Magic Crystals, which are obtainable from the central market and many different grind spots.

Chapter 11 – Barbarian’s Cauldron

Chapter 11 requires you to hand over Alchemy Stone Shard x1500 to the Black Eyeroot.

Alchemy Stone Shards can be obtained by Processing (L) > Grinding, the crafted Alchemy Stones (eg. Rough Alchemy Stone of Destruction gives x7 Alchemy Stone Shards).

I recommend using this Google Sheet Calculator to help you work out the cheapest Alchemy Stones to grind if you need Alchemy Stone Shards. You can also buy the Alchemy Stone Shards directly from the Central Market.

Chapter 12 – Crystal of Balance

This Chapter quest is the highest silver cost, and there is no way around it since the item is bought from a vendor.

You need to hand over Cantarnia’s Crystal x9 to the Black Eyeroot.

These can be purchased from Francia in O’draxxia and cost 500 million silver each, which is a total of 4.5 billion silver for all 9 items.

Chapter 13 – Alliance and Cooperation

For this chapter, you simply need to go and speak to Blanca Tris at the Narcion node in O’dyllita.

This chapter is usually completed for Chapter 2, to unlock the weekly quests that reward you with Intact Nouver’s Reverse Scales.

Chapter 14 – Faith and Proof

The final chapter requires you to simply talk to the Black Eyeroot on a level 62 or higher character.

Completing the questline: Crow’s Keepsake

After completing all of the chapters, you will obtain one last quest from the Black Eyeroot called “Crow’s Keepsake“.

This quest simply requires you to go to Viorencia Odore in O’draxxia city.

She will reward you with a Resplendent Moonlight Chest which can be opened to obtain the Inverted Heart of Garmoth.
