Five reasons to buy the LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon in 2021 (2024)

LEGO Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon has now been on shelves for more than four years, but here’s why it’s still pretty much the best set you can buy in 2021.

Not many LEGO Star Wars sets enjoy the longevity of 75192 Millennium Falcon. 10188 Death Star was around for a very long time, and its successor 75159 Death Star hung around for a while, too. But given the Falcon’s record-breaking piece count and price tag when it launched in 2017, it’s a little surprising to see it turn into the same kind of evergreen product.

Clearly it shows that the LEGO Group is on to a winner, though, and we’re inclined to agree (it tops our Top 20 LEGO Sets list for a reason!). You can check out our review of 75192 Millennium Falcon for a deeper dive into all aspects of this incredible set, but keep reading for a recap of why it’s still the best LEGO Star Wars set money can buy in 2021.

5 – It’s still the biggest LEGO Star Wars set ever

Five reasons to buy the LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon in 2021 (1)

No, it’s not quite as long as 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer or 10221 Super Star Destroyer, and it’s certainly not going to win any awards for its height. But at 7,541 pieces, no other LEGO Star Wars set even comes close to the sheer volume of elements included in 75192 Millennium Falcon. The rumoured 75313 AT-AT could yet take the crown, but for now, the biggest hunk of junk in the galaxy is still firmly in pole position here.

4 – It makes every other Falcon look rubbish

Five reasons to buy the LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon in 2021 (2)

Sorry, but it does. 75105 Millennium Falcon, 75212 Kessel Run Millennium Falcon and 75257 Millennium Falcon are all great sets in their own right, and especially given their respective price tags and part counts. But next to 75192 Millennium Falcon, they just can’t compare.

The good news is that once you’ve bought the Ultimate Collector Series set, you can safely ignore pretty much every other Falcon the LEGO Group churns out. So technically –technically– you’re saving yourself from future purchases by picking up 75192 Millennium Falcon today. You’re welcome.

3 –There are so many ways to display it

Five reasons to buy the LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon in 2021 (3)

On a stand? Sure. In a display case? Why not. In a coffee table? Even better. These are just a few of the ways you can display 75192 Millennium Falcon, which is no small undertaking given its almost obnoxiously-large dimensions of 21cm tall, 84cm long and 56cm wide.

You’re going to have to think very carefully about where you display it, but third-party manufacturers including iDisplayit can help with the logistics. Check out itsMillennium Falcon display standor any of itsMillennium Falcon display cases for examples.

2 –It’s (probably) going to be a great investment

Five reasons to buy the LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon in 2021 (4)

75192 Millennium Falcon is still a little way off retiring yet, with its exit date postponed yet again until the end of 2022. But when it does finally fly off to the great LEGO retirement home, where all sets must eventually end up, this behemoth will surely shoot up in price on the aftermarket.

There’s a reason it still sells out at LEGO.com, and that’s because everybody still wants it – and will no doubt continue to after it’s gone, just as they did with 10179 Millennium Falcon before it.

1 – It’s currently available with a huge discount

Five reasons to buy the LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon in 2021 (5)
