Big Four accounting firms Deloitte and KPMG have been listed as the 36th and 44th most desirable places to work based on a study of user activity by LinkedIn. The analysis is based oninterest in a company's jobs, interest in a company's brand and employees, and employee retention.
On Deloitte, the study said "Landing a job at Deloitte is more competitive than securing a freshman spot at Harvard. Only 2.4 percent of Deloitte’s 3 million applicants received jobs last year versus Harvard’s5.4-percent acceptance rate. Deloitte is obsessed with hiring leaders — and training them to be even better. The company provides over 3.1 million e-learning courses, access to Deloitte University and a plethora of volunteering and pro bono opportunities."
On KPMG, it said "Summers are great at KPMG: Employees are encouraged to leave at 3 p.m. on Fridays. It’s just one of many perks at the auditing and advisory firm, like an employee-funded pension program and $5,000 bonus for successful applicant referrals. The firm prides itself on its values, though this year has been bumpier than usual after an auditing scandal led to the dismissal of six employees. 'KPMG has zero tolerance for such unethical behavior,'said CEO Lynne Doughtie."
