Centrifugal superchargers are prized for their efficiency, which translates into less heat and lower parasitic drag on the engine.
Supercharging speed by Supercharger location
Some Tesla Superchargers charge faster than others because the electrical output at each location is slightly different. You can see the fastest nearby Supercharger on your Tesla screen or app based on the number of bolts shown – three bolts indicates the fastest.
Less efficient: the biggest disadvantage of superchargers is that they suck engine power simply to produce engine power. They're run off an engine belt connected to the crankshaft, so you're essentially powering an air pump with another air pump.

Compared to turbochargers, which are prone to lag, supercharging is a much more reliable mode of inducing power. They also require less maintenance than a turbocharger and are less prone to break down.
The whine is just noise from the straight cut gears in the front of the case- it's not from the supercharger's lobes internally. When you are not in boost, the gears have very little load and they are quiet. Under boost, they have around 50-75 HP running through them so they make noise.
Does a supercharger shorten engine life?
If the engine was made for a supercharger and you do routine maintenance to it it will have a long service life, however if add a supercharger to a engine that was not designed to have one of course its gonna shorten its life as the other parts weren't designed for that kind of stress.
The Ford Roush Mustang Stage 3 with a Mustang GT Performance Package add on also comes with multiple benefits. It's equipped with a phase 2 supercharger engine output and cold air intake that works in conjunction with the Ford's 5.0L V8 engine to create bursting speed in seconds.

Supercharger or turbocharger
A turbocharger works with the exhaust system and can potentially give you gains of 70-150 horsepower. A supercharger is connected directly to the engine intake and could provide an extra 50-100 horsepower.
Is it cheaper to use supercharger at night?
However, a new communication sent to Tesla owners in the state by the automaker (via Reddit) stated the hours would be revised. “Starting April 12, 2022, off-peak hours will change at California Supercharger locations. Charge for less at select Superchargers before 11 AM and after 9 PM.
off-peak hours. You definitely want to charge after midnight to save money and help take the burden off the grid.
In piston engines used by aircraft, supercharging was often used to compensate for the lower air density at high altitudes. Supercharging is less commonly used in the 21st century, as manufacturers have shifted to turbochargers to reduce fuel consumption and/or increase power outputs.
To produce more power, the turbocharger utilizes the flow of the exhaust gases that would otherwise go to waste. Research suggests turbochargers are 20% to 25% more fuel-efficient than superchargers. So, from an efficiency standpoint, a Turbocharger is a much more lucrative deal.
Because a supercharger uses the engine's own power to spin itself, it siphons power—more and more of it as engine revs climb. Supercharged engines tend to be less fuel efficient for this reason.
Level 3 Charging: 400-Volt to 900-Volt (DC Fast Charge & Supercharging) Level 3 charging is the fastest type of charging available and can recharge an EV at a rate of 3 to 20 miles of range per minute.

The 5.7L V8 HEMI® engine is available only on the R/T trim This engine offers 370 horsepower with 395 lb-ft of torque.
Is it better to supercharge or turbo a V8?
For those looking to balance performance with fuel economy and efficiency, turbocharging is the better choice. For those more interested in a straightforward solution to raw horsepower, supercharging is more likely the way to go.
No lag: the supercharger's biggest advantage over a turbocharger is that it does not have any lag. Power delivery is immediate because the supercharger is driven by the engine's crankshaft. Low RPM boost: good power at low RPM in comparison with turbochargers. Price: cost effective way of increasing horsepower.
A cat-back exhaust system improves horsepower because it improves the car's performance. Your vehicle doesn't have to work as hard, and the flow of air is increased.
