What happens if I forgot my online banking password? ›

Depending on the bank, they may require you to answer security questions or provide additional proof of identity before resetting your password. They may also require you to come into a branch to reset your password in person.

In the login screen, click 'Forgot Username/ Login Password'. A pop-up window will appear with a dropdown menu. Select the 'Forgot My Login Password' option and click 'Next'. Provide the required details, selecting the either 'Using ATM Card Details' or 'Using Profile Password' option to reset the password.

If you find yourself being locked out of online banking (even though you know your password is right!), it could be caused by not properly logging out the last time you accessed your online banking via the mobile app or web browser.

You can change or reset your Password by clicking the Forgot Password link from the Security Bank Online Home page. To verify your identity, you will then be required to provide User ID, your registered email address, and the answer to your Challenge Question.

However, your online banking credentials cannot be used to log in to your bank's mobile app. You will have to apply for Mobile Banking separately. Your bank will then send you a password for the same. Most banks allow you to apply for Mobile Banking through their online banking portal.

Change your password regularly.

It might sound like hard work but updating your password frequently will significantly reduce the chances of it being compromised.

You can unlock the same immediately using the unlocking account feature available on the login screen or the same will get unlocked automatically after 12 Hrs. Alternatively, you can call up the 24 Hour Customer Contact Centre / visit the branch for the same.

Look for your router's default login information.

This information is usually found on the bottom of the router, and includes the following: Network name or SSID — Your network's factory name that you'll see in the Wi-Fi menu. Password or Key — Your network's default password.

Passwords should be at least eight characters long and include a combination of letters, numbers and symbols.

Please ensure you are using an up to date and fully supported browser to use Digital Banking. Make sure you have cleared temporary internet files and cookies and your browser has extensions and add-ons disabled. If needed, also try restarting your device and router, and try a wired connection.

Can I still use my card if my online banking is locked? ›

Don't worry, you can still use your debit card at ATMs and to pay for things. But you'll need to unlock it to use with your card reader in Online Banking.

To unblock or unfreeze your bank account, you will need to contact your bank's customer support or visit your nearest branch. You will be required to provide identification documents such as your PAN card, Aadhaar card, passport, etc., to verify your identity.

If you have forgotten your profile password, you can reset the same yourself. You need to authenticate yourself with the hint question and answer that you had set for the Profile password or through ATM Debit card validation.
