Siesta Beach
On the northern end of Siesta Key, rests the most popular public beach on the island: Siesta Beach. You can walk, bike or ride the trolley to the largest of the island beaches. Siesta Beach is arguably the most popular attraction on the island. It has a café overlooking the beach, a large shaded playground, picnic areas, concession stands, and several volleyball courts. You will have plenty to do on Siesta Key Beach, but you might also find the biggest crowds here. Even the dolphins love the Gulf Coast waters at Siesta Key.
Siesta Beach is perfect for playing volleyball or tennis, boating or fishing, or attending a Drum Circle sunset service on a Sunday evening. Families enjoy dining nearby or bringing a picnic lunch. The beach is lifeguarded, which provides that extra feeling of safety and security. It’s shallow waters near the shoreline make it a perfect choice for families.
Crescent Beach
How is Siesta Beach different from Crescent Beach? When you book your Siesta Key vacation rental at Peppertree Bay, you’re only a few steps away from the quieter Crescent Beach, located just south of Siesta Beach. With only one public access road, Crescent Beach is the most private non-private beach on the island. In 1987, over 30 beaches entered their sand into the Great International Sand Challenge. Crescent Beach won the honor of being rated “The World’s Finest, Whitest Sand“.
At the southern tip of Crescent Beach, you can enjoy the popular Point of Rocks, which boasts the best snorkeling spot on Siesta Key. The area is rich with colorful marine life and coral formations that make it the perfect location for diving or snorkeling.
Turtle Beach
Turtle Beach is at the southernmost tip of Siesta Key. It is a narrower beach with a steeper incline. The slightly darker sand also has a plethora of shells, making this a great option for shell collectors and beachcombers. You could even find a shark’s tooth if you look long and careful enough.
Turtle beach is the perfect location for a more active beach experience. You can rent bikes and pedal your way there and back. There are picnic areas with a playground, volleyball court, and a horseshoe pit for added fun. If fishing and boating is more your style, then Turtle beach is definitely for you. With its boat launch area and the nearby Blind Pass Lagoon, you’ll be able to put that fishing pole to good use!
