TAMPA BAY, Fla. - Drinking alcohol is prohibited on most Tampa Bay beaches. Violators can be ticketed, but most police officials will begin with a warning and ask you to pour out your alcoholic drink.
Though if you’re 21 years or older and still want to consume booze on the sand, there are a few Tampa Bay beaches you can drink at!
Treasure Island Beach
You can drink alcohol on the vast majority of Treasure Island Beach. There’s a small section of Treasure Island’s Sunset Beach between 85th and 99th avenuesthat doesn’t allow alcohol for majority of the year, but the rest of the beaches at Treasure Island are booze-friendly. No glass or kegs allowed.
Madeira Beach
You are permitted to consume alcoholic beverages on the beach, but not in glass containers. The exceptions to the regulations are:
- Beach-access easem*nts
- Kitty Stuart Park
- Picnic shelter at Archibald Park, which extends 20 feet in all directions from the outer edge of the picnic shelter

Redington Beach
You can drink alcohol on Redington Beach, but glass is not allowed. Don’t forget, drinking is prohibited on the neighboring beaches of Redington Shores and North Redington Beach.
Siesta Beach
It is legal to drink alcoholic beverages on Siesta Beach, but no glass containers allowed. You can also drink at most Sarasota County beaches, including Turtle Beach and Lido Beach.
Make sure to check with local law enforcement before bringing alcohol on any beach, just as a precaution.
