What is Square Support Center? ›

Credit card processing with Square is available in the 50 United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Payments can only be processed in the country in which you activate your account.

You should contact Customer Service at 1-866-200-8599 as soon as you believe any error, including as the result of an unauthorized transaction, has occurred and no later than sixty (60) days after the subject error was available for viewing on the Square Dashboard.

Without a verified bank account, Square may hold your funds as a precautionary measure to ensure the validity of transactions. If your transfer request is less than the minimum or exceeds the maximum amount permitted after accounting for processing fees, Square may also hold your funds.

Always check that you have a strong network connection before attempting to process a payment. Payments can fail if the connection is not strong enough. Note: If you lose internet connectivity, you can enable Offline Mode to accept card payments on your mobile device and Square Reader for magstripe.

Log in to Reporting > Transactions tab in your online Square Dashboard. Click on the payment you'd like to refund, then click Issue Refund. Enter the amount you'd like to refund and the reason you're refunding the payment, then click Issue Refund.

Offer a simple greeting or question to start a conversation rather than saying something clever. Ask open-ended questions that require the other person to give a detailed answer. Practice positive body language when you speak to others, like smiling, making eye contact, and nodding at the right time.

What percentage does Square take? ›

The Square standard processing fee is 2.6% + 10¢ for contactless payments, swiped or inserted chip cards, and swiped magstripe cards. Payments that are manually keyed-in, processed using Card on File, or manually entered using Virtual Terminal have a 3.5% + 15¢ fee.

Square does not charge a monthly or annual fee. Instead, the company makes money through a percentage of every credit card transaction it processes. Square charges 2.6% plus 10 cents for most in-person transactions. However, if the card must be entered manually, it charges 3.5% plus 15 cents per transaction.

If you make a purchase with a merchant who uses Square to accept payments in person, over the phone, or through Square Online, the characters SQ* or gosq.com, the merchant's name or business name, and business type will appear on your credit card statement. Charges can appear on your statement in a few different ways.
