Snoop Dogg and Gordon Ramsay 'plan' to open restaurant (2024)

From his Heathrow-based Plane Food to his five Las Vegas eateries, Gordon Ramsay has built a global empire through his ever-popular restaurants. His television presence as a no messing, potty-mouthed chef has seen him work with not only budding chefs from across the world, but a number of celebrities.

Five years ago, Gordon, who has owned a number of homes in Cornwall and stayed in the county during the Covid pandemic, met American rapper Snoop Dogg on his Channel 4 show The F Word. Although he is mostly known for his musical career, Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jnr, made his cookbook debut in 2018 with 'From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from That Boss Dogg’s Kitchen'.

The 'Drop It Like It's Hot' rapper has turned to the fiery chef for cooking tips, recently revealing in an interview with The Mirror: "I met up with my boy Gordon and he has taught me a few things."

And now, Snoop, a huge Celtic fan, has said he has plans to open a restaurant in Glasgow with the Scottish-born chef. He told the Daily Record: "I have been speaking with my boy Gordon for a while about opening a restaurant together - but the pandemic slowed things right down.

"Gordon has got a few places in Vegas and Vegas is Snoop’s city - so I kind of figured that we would open a place there - but I know Gordon is from Scotland and people know my love for Scotland and for Glasgow as a city so - why not there."

Snoop, who owns food company Broadus Foods, said that he would like to offer his own personal favourites to customers in the restaurant, including fried chicken, in addition to traditional Scottish dishes, like haggis. Snoop added: "It would be food everybody could enjoy - food for the family."

Gordon previously owned Michelin star restaurant Amaryllis in Glasgow, with chef David Dempsey running the ship for Gordon. The restaurant sadly closed in 2004, following the death of Dempsey.

The hot-tempered chef is yet to open a restaurant in Cornwall, despite calling the county home for seven years alongside his wife, Tana. The couple have owned a number of properties in Cornwall, including in Trebetherick, Rock, and Fowey.
