Sardines is an active game that is played like hide and go seek — only in reverse! One person hides, and everyone else searches for the hidden person. Whenever a person finds the hidden person, they quietly join them in their hiding spot. Soon, the hidden group starts to look like a bunch of sardines!

Choose one person to be “it.” The other players count to 20 while “it” hides. Using flashlights, the players look for the hidden person. Begin the game.

The "It" person (seeker) will stay at home base, close their eyes, and count out loud to a specific number. Make sure they're not cheating. The seeker must have their eyes closed, hands over their eyes, and preferably facing a corner.

Continue hiding until one person is left.

Whoever is last becomes the next hider or sardine. Depending on the number of people playing, packing everyone into one space can be both difficult and amusing. If you're the last person to find the original hider and everyone else, you become it for the next game.
