How Long Do Hessian Sandbags Last?
Unlike your typical heavy duty woven polypropylene sandbags which can last up to 2 years, hessian sandbags may only withstand flood protection between 4 and 6 weeks before breaking down and becoming ineffective.
They may not last as long as others, but these sandbags are great to use around livestock or environmental areas.
Once these bags start to break down, they will not cause harm to the environment or wildlife around. They are also difficult for livestock to chew on preventing them from becoming sick.

Can You Put Wet Sand In Sandbags?
Often when you purchase a bag of sand, it can arrive damp. This is fine to use in your sandbags as it will dry out over time the more you use them.
You cannot use wet sand in them, however, especially not water-logged sand as this will cause your sandbags to be ineffective. Wet sand will rot your sandbags down internally and cause them to become unusable.

A single sandbag can be capable of stopping a round of bullets protecting troops and civilians behind the wall. When the bullet hits the sandbag, the sand inside is unable to move quickly enough to allow the bullet through, meaning the bullet slows down and stops in its tracks before creating further damage.
