Refurbed to "pro" standard ie good enough for London top session players & recording studios, here we have a 1984 Rhodes MkV (Stage 73). Regarded by most as "the holy grail" of Rhodes pianos. Herbie Hanco*ck/Donald fa*gen/Stevie Wonder/Rod Argent all own a legendary Mk5...only 2,000 EVER made, the final model made in the Fullerton factory.... ending in 1984...for good... This is the piano that inspired V Vibe to replicate the great action on their instruments. This is the piano that also influenced the new Mk8, particularly the longer hammer throw, which is longer than any other original Rhodes model; this simply catapults the action to a whole new level. All 73 hammers in this MKV have been REPLACED with Mk8 black ones. This proves the point.....
HARP:- The harp has been well serviced ~ all tines are now straight/in-line, correct tuning spring fitted, correct length, square-ended & (crucially) sound clean with excellent sustain (tines CAN become dull/dead through time....)...NO "wazzing" tines (that behave like rotor blades and sound a bit 'naff!) ~ all tone bars hand-polished, with correct mounting springs fitted. All 73 p/ups all line-up correctly and all soldering checked etc. NO rust/oxidation. Made week 43 of 1984...HAS to be one of the last ones made, as the factory gates closed in 1984!!!
ACTION PARTS:- hammer tips are now good for many years...NO overtones to tell your mum about. Hammers/bridle straps etc are all lovely and are happy with their lot in life..... All 73 wooden individually numbered keys have been hand-cleaned, eased, and replaced with minimum lateral movement, then the whole rig regulated (this means that they all sit even & level). "Miracle-mod" has been factory fitted;
ELECTRONICS:- Avion Studios RetroFlyer kit has been fitted. Cool ping-pong stereo & active EQ are now added to the audio chocolate sound......
ACCESSORIES:- Original special stand comes with the MkV, with improved locking system. There is a h/duty metal sustain pedal + rod, that park inside the top lid. Its a complete MKV!!!
SOUNDS LIKE:- set up for light/jazzy play ~ voiced & tuned ~ this baby will deliver the great Rhodes sound with superb aplomb. Most notes will "bark" @ ff play. All notes will "trigger" at the least touch possible , for dynamic piano playing. Less is more, dahlinks......."Babylon Sister" by Steely Dan & "Get Back" by The Beatles are two good examples of a good Rhodes piano ~ great "padding" or dynamic soloing~ Rhodes can supply them all......

The value can only increase as time marches on. How nice is that? This is KKGB's last MkV for the time being.....now very hard to source fresh stock.
