It means: “Tell me the shortest version of your life story (or some other story that one would expect you to tell me on an impromptu ask).” It's a fairly rude, aggressive question that I invariably refuse to answer to a stranger.
What does it mean when someone asks your story? ›The asker is simply saying, “I'd like to know you better. Would you tell me a little more about yourself?” The questioner isn't asking you to take stock of your entire existence and frame it into a compelling narrative on the spot.
What is a good personal story? ›As a story, it must include an introduction, characters, plot, setting, climax, anti-climax (if any), and conclusion. Another way to approach it is by structuring it with an introduction, body, and conclusion. The introduction should set the tone, while the body should focus on the key point(s) you want to get across.
Should you tell people your life story? ›Sharing your personal life story is one of the most powerful ways to develop self-awareness, think clearly, and build connections and trust.
What stories should I tell about myself? ›Ask good, “open” questions.
This may seem obvious, but sometimes, we don't really know where to begin. Asking “open” questions invites people to share. In our family's dinner conversation, asking, “What was the best part of your day?” invites everyone to talk about what happened in their lives.
These three things were: What is the right time to begin something? Which people should he listen to? What is the most important thing for him to do? The king, therefore, sent messengers throughout his kingdom, promising a large sum of money to anyone who would answer these three questions.
