I received and invoice saying that Norton had already debited 400 from my checking account. I had to call my bank and put a stop payment ($25) on the transaction just to make sure it didn’t happen. I haven’t used Norton for several years. Below is the name and phone number of the person that sent the email. I can forward the email to you if you send me your email. Thanks Jim Holder.

I called to cancel my 2 computer protections. I was transfered back into the cue. Finally, Shen from Indian said he was from cancellation. I said I’m 7 and I cannot afford to keep the services and need to cancel both he said he couldn’t find my email. I said I been with Norton for years, so he put me on hold serveral times and the last time I was on hold for a few minutes then hung up on me. I went to your website to cancel both at the end it said canceled and I would be charged until 2023. These are month to month services. I need to buy my meds, vitamins, and food which have gotten more and more expensive. Plus, these foreign countries have are no good. I’ve had difficult calling for simple things like changing my number which took 4 calls and your subjecting customers to these idiots. I contacted the Better Business Bureau. On 05/09/2022, I updated the payment method for Norton Antivirus and VPN and was told by rep that it was approved. In 15 minutes I got 2 emails saying my Norton Antivirus and VPN were cancelled as requested! I called reps back and the false stories began: they were scam emails, programs not canceled, programs canceled, refused to switch me to supervisor, when they did the supposed supervisor continued the false stories, programs showed ok, then canceled, then OK, covering for reps, refused to connect to her supervisor, gave an Arizona address for corporate instead of California, said an investigation would begin but I would not be advised of results were. Honestly, I have lost ALL respect and confidence in Norton and will be looking into replacement programs. Corporate needs to overhaul their tech reps program!!!

Program fails to provide alerts for dark web monitoring of phone numbers, financial activities for transactions greater than default $500, changes (i.e. credit file lock) made to Equifax & Experian Credit Bureau, etc. Norton technical support indicated backend configuration of my account not yet completed for receipt and forwarding of alerts (after 3 months of active service). Norton not providing/rendering services advertised. Verified by receipt of alerts from other installed Identity Monitoring services: Experian IdentityWorks, myEquifax, and United States Office of Personnel Management’s myIDCare. Requested cancellation of program and full refund of $420 due to services not rendered as advertised. Corporate policy does not permit refund greater than $57 since activation made 26Nov2021. May I please get a call back from someone in Norton 360 support, level 2 or above. I opened a ticket on 2/28, it is now 3/16. At least 4 T1 agents have unsuccessfully helped me.It has been escalated to Tier 2 at least 6 times, I have never received a call back from Tier 2 between the hours of 7am and 11 pm my time. At first, I was guaranteed a phone call back in 24 – 48 hours, 3 times and it never occurred. The last 3 times they assured a call back in 1-3 hours. It never occurred. My original ticket had been closed after 7 days, and only by calling back has a new one been reopened. This is not a support. My ticket number is 68749843 if they have not yet closed this one.

I have been trying to reach out to Norton corporate offices because I am receiving invoices and emails stating “we have just installed on your system…..which cost $XXX.xx that will be billed to your account. I have received from Norton (with a name@gmail.com) in the parenthetical address. There is a company in San Antonio TX called Norton Company LLC which has 4 employees. They have an official looking internet address, but when I called, a person who is from India answered and made me reluctant to give any information because the person who scammed me was Indian. This is not a problem with the Norton Antivirus Company but with a fraud that uses the Norton logo and website simile. The comment below by mp explains exactly what happens.

You get a bill allegedly from Norton Antivirus and number to call. You call a number and somebody says that the only way to get reimbursed for your payment is to download various apps. One of the apps asks you to state the amount that you were billed. Let’s say you type in $543. The screen shows $54333. They added extra digits at the end. They blame you for adding digits.

Now they say that you have wired yourself money that isn’t yours, and they demand a repayment. The trick is to make you feel guilty. It’s all your fault.

The fraud is clever. The fake Norton Antivirus website is very good. The fake bank website is very good too.

One clue is that the accents of the manager “John” and and the initial contact “Rick” are odd. Rick had a strong Indian accent and John had a strong Indian or filipino accent.

I have used Norton for years but doubt I will in future. I was astonished to find that I had an automatic renewal (which I don’t remember signing up for at all) which massively overcharged me for one year’s subscription. Today I asked for the automatic renewal to be stopped. I asked to speak with a Manager in my country’s Norton office or a neighbouring one… to ask about this and try to effect positive change. I was clear with my request. However, the supervisor at the call centre in India gave me a number which ended up taking me to a call centre in the Philippines.

When you seek support on the website and click on ‘see local numbers’, you have to instead fill out an online form and then on the next ‘page’ it shows you an 0800 number for overseas.

I was disappointed and annoyed to see from comments on this site that others have also been massively overcharged via automatic renewal and also can’t get the help they need/speak with a manager.

I think this needs investigating by Commerce Commission type government entities in each country as it does indeed sound like Norton are stealing people’s money and have lost interest in actually helping. People need warning about them. I certainly will need to consider other options for anti-virus software.

The email stated my annual subscription to Norton 360 had been renewed and updated and an automatic debit to my bank account for $549. The email provided a phone number for urgent assistance or refund call 724-252-4743 and was signed Rick S.
November 23, 2021 – I called the number and was transferred to someone named John and explained I hadn’t used Norton Antivirus in several years and did not show interest or request a subscription. I wanted to stop Norton from taking %549 out of my bank account.
I gave John permission to access my laptop so he could set up the automated refund form, which I was required to complete. The refund form was an automated and as questions were displayed on my desktop, I typed in the correct responses (full name, address, phone #, name of bank and the amount of money I was requesting to be refunded – $549). I was told I could not use the backspace key or press Enter.
The first time the form was run and completed, it did not function properly (Ask John), so I had to complete the information again. As I typed in the answers to questions on the screen, my finger accidently hit the number 9 twice – $5499. I caught the error and told John what had happened as soon as I saw the problem. The server processed the form so quickly there didn’t seem to be a way to stop software from automatically depositing $5,499.00 into my banking account.
John was upset and I could hear him say over the phone that he would lose his job over this error. He put me in touch with Peter.
Peter explained I had to pay back this money and I could use bitcoin or gift cards to repay the 5499. That I could only purchase $500 gift cards and send photos to him in text. This practice seemed fraudulent to me and I was vey uncomfortable with it. I didn’t understand why I couldn’t send the money via a registered check to Norton. He spent a lot of time online trying to set up different money transfer accounts but none of them worked.

Your Customer Service (and I use that term loosely) is deplorable. I was sent an email telling me my subscription anniversary was coming up and I was eligible for a free computer clean up. I contacted Norton with the information provided and was assigned Case ID 64023158. I believe I was transferred twice before reaching a technician to perform my clean up. I failed to write down his name. He attempted to access control of my computer remotely but was never successful in his attempts. After approximately 2 hours he informed me I needed to install a different internet provider (he recommended Google, I used Safari) We ended our conversation

2 days later I installed Google and again contacted Norton for the service afforded to me. This time I spoke with Freddie (I learned to verify their name before proceeding). Freddie was able to remotely control my computer and proceeded with the cleaning. Once complete, according to Freddie my computer was restarted. However, upon restart I had only a teal background. He had me restart the computer a few more times but with the same result. He then transferred me to Fevie. She had me go to System Preferences, Desktop and Screen Saver and reset my background. Success, for now.

Later in the day I again wanted to use my computer. One of the first things I do upon logging on is to activate the Norton VPN. I was unable to do this because Norton would not load. All I had was a box that read “Pending” and a bar sweeping back and forth. I waited since the computer had recently been cleaned. No luck. I tried restarting several times but always with the same conclusion. The cleaning had somehow affected my Norton program. Again I called Norton.

This time I was assigned Case ID 64147535. After a few long waits and transfers I was eventually put in contact with Bhuvan. He stated that he was going to have to delete Norton and re-install the program. Notice I said delete and not uninstall because this is precisely what he did. He took all the Norton files and dumped them in the trash. He then attempted to re-install Norton on my computer. Every indication was that the installation was successful. Unfortunately the program was nowhere to be found on my computer. He attempted to install the program at least 2 more time (I really believe it was 3 times) all with the same result. He said I would need to the transferred to a senior technician but all were busy. He would set up a call back and I would have a response in 24 – 48 hours. I explained that that was not satisfactory I had doctors appointment on the second day. IN CAPITAL LETTERS HE WROTE THAT I WOULD HAVE A RESPONSE IN 24 HOURS. It’s been 5 days and I still have not had a response from them.

After 24 hours I called again and told them I needed to speak to a supervisor. Manish told me I needed to provide him with all my information again. I informed him that he had my information, my case ID’s and my phone number and he needed nothing further from me. After about an hour of demanding to speak to a supervisor he transferred me to Daryll. Daryll seemed helpful but after about 30 minutes on the phone with him he requested to set up a call back and asked when would be a convenient time. My response was “10 minutes”. He stated a supervisor would contact me shortly. After 8 hours and no response I contacted Norton again this time on a chat.

My chat was with Aman Sharma. He told me the chat services and phone services are different and that I would need to call a different number for phone services. While continuing my chat with Aman I did call the phone service number and connected with Donna. Again I requested talking to a supervisor but was informed by Donna there were no supervisors working at that time. I asked when a supervisor would be available and she told me at 9:00 am. I asked what time zone and that’s when I found I was talking to the Philippines. She said I would definitely receive a phone call at 9:00 am this morning. I informed her and Aman both (since I was still chatting also) that I had a contractor coming this morning at 9:00 am and that I would be away from my house after that visit until 4:00 pm. Both assured me I would receive the call at 9:00 am. No call came in at 9:00 am or at any time this morning. I can verify this with both the contractor and my daughter who was here until 10:15 am. I proceeded to my scheduled appointments with one being where I could not carry my phone. Upon checking my phone around 3:15 pm I discovered that someone finally called me at 1:30 pm – when I had stipulated that I would not be available.

Norton is a company of liars. I no longer trust them with my internet security. I will be checking elsewhere. If you decide to keep Norton then never let them clean your computer. I am very concerned about what else they “cleaned”.

I have been using Norton 360 for about 9 years and I consider be a good protection application for your computers and cell phones.
I see that I am not the only one with the same problem, I had it with automatic payment and they charged me 3 times the value for one year of subscription, I called by customer services by phone and explained the problem to them and they gave me the discount that I found online and they gave me the Rest of the credit in my credit card, you need to pay attention when it is time to renew and if you not you will paid double for the one-year subscriptions is double.
Customer service in India is very bad, it is better to hang up the phone and call for a customer service in Philippines is much better and more professional when you explains the problem to them they help you.
NortonLifeLock is not secure in protection. they are theft I do not recommend listing in the program all credit cards, driver’s license for protection in Norton LifeLock, your information will be stolen by an employee who works at lifeLock customer service in India.

The customer service is bad. I could not get a particle credit since I have not used Norton since I got a new computer with a different security company. Norton told be yes we see you last used our service in March 29 but you have 60 days to cancel your service. This company takes your money and doesn’t want to help you at all. Manager refused to speak to me and the Customer Service Rep told me to dispute this with my Credit card company of the charge. the Chat is not any better either. I would not recommend their service at all. Don’t give them any money run to another company for better service.

I had a malware issue and called for support. The tech took care of the issue but at the end of the call tried to sell me a 3 rd party protection software, not a Norton product for $399. I then confirmed he worked for Norton and told him I need to think it over. He later called me and asked if I wanted to make the purchase of the product. I again told him I needed more time.
It seems Norton has a lack of control with it’s tech support term.

Reading some of negative comments below, I am comforted knowing I am not alone. This company charged me twice for my subscription ($141.74 auto-renewal) for total of $283.48, even though I only have one subscription for the Norton Virus protection product (a service I have been subscribed to for over a decade). Instead of resolving the double charge dispute, they simply refunded one charge and cancelled my subscription all together without notifying me. So at this point, I am out $141.74, over 4 hours wasted on the phone with customer support, and no active virus protection. Thanks Norton!

I contacted the tech support people from India, I got 2 different people after the first did not fix the problem and pretended that he could not hear me on the phone he cut the call. I called the second time and this time I got a female a very red individual that instead of fixing the problem that Norton 360 had cause, she cut the call without telling anything. WORST customer service EVER!!!!
My account was charged twice for the annual subscription and thru a Chat session, the rep was confusing and zero help even though I could provide proof of the double charge. At one point he asked why I was cancelling my subscription which I never stated! In hind site, maybe I should have cancelled when I had the chance. After this renewal period, I’ll remove my credit card numbers and NEVER use Norton again!

Norton has a big problem within their company. Scrammers, liars and thieves.I have filed a complaint with BBB and I will file other complaints. I will come to Philadelphia and California if and when the time is needed to file within the court system. Your company needs to be investigated Norton and Micro PC is working together. For years there has been continue complaints about Micro Pc which uses different names but same business. In an article in Sevier County Ark. tells how Norton and Micro Pc is working together warning the people about this scam, that’s how I got scam through Norton who transferred me to Micro Pc Tech Support and I wasn’t the only one. The numbers they were using in this article was 877-333-6087 I know well, 908-955-4329 and 620-266-4420. No way am I going to allow these people to keep my money and to continue scamming others after years of doing this. Again your company needs to be investigated to get these people out of your company and behind bars, also check the reviews.

I have been with Norton for a very long time and now its so hard to get a hold of a support tech, I was on the phone for three days before I was able to contact someone. I m afraid I m to old to be frustrated by the system you have in place so I will use another antivirus that’s user friendly to install,this is my last dance with Norton.
