Leadership — About Seeking Alpha (1)

David Jackson

Founder and CEO

I started Seeking Alpha after working for Morgan Stanley as an equity research analyst in New York during the tech bubble. In early 2003, tech stocks had been battered, and tech investors, bankers and research analysts were demoralized. At the same time, new technologies were creating the possibility of a different approach to equity research, based on crowdsourcing and community. I left Morgan Stanley, and immediately started working on Seeking Alpha. I’m passionate about building a product that enriches our subscribers’ lives, and a platform that provides opportunities for our contributors. I’m also a strong believer in remote working, as a way to enable both career success and other life goals, so many members of our team work from home. I have a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MSc in Economics from The London School of Economics. I love writing, spreadsheets, user experience, and strategy. My hobbies include reading history and tormenting my children with terrible dad jokes. I’m married with five children, and live in Ra’anana, Israel.

Avishag Baruch

CTO & COO

My career started when I fell in love with coding in high school. I later served in the IDF’s Mamram unit (the Center of Computing and Information Systems), and then got a BSc in Computer Science from Bar-Ilan University. I’m now Seeking Alpha’s Chief Technology Officer. I joined Seeking Alpha in 2014. Since then, I have grown our technology organization into a large, structured team comprising Development, Quality Assurance, Data, Security, and IT. Half the team is in Israel and half in Ukraine. Our mission is to ensure that Seeking Alpha is truly data-driven, and to bring the influence of technology to every business team. Our R&D teams deliver cutting-edge technology based on robust processes and best practices, using agile software development methodology. I believe that technology innovation by brilliant minds leads to awesome user experience.

Paul Jelinek

CCO

I am passionate about building and scaling businesses. I focus on accelerating growth through a mix of strategy, developing and managing enterprise partnerships, and corporate development. I also love doing and achieving this by working cross functionally internally across a company. Whether it’s a major strategic partnership or acquisition, I genuinely believe all successful businesses can only be realized with a high performing and cohesive internal team. I have done a version of my current role at other traditional media companies (A&E Television Networks, Viacom/Nickelodeon and Discovery Communications) and more importantly at Taboola where I was a senior executive for over seven years prior to joining Seeking Alpha. Working at Taboola reinforced my desire to continue doing what I love professionally but also if possible with an Israeli company. I live in New York City with my wife and daughter and have many outside passions including classical music, collecting photography, adventure travel and playing numerous sports.

Daniel Hochman

VP Product

I lead Seeking Alpha’s product development, and have played a pivotal role in designing and developing the products of Seeking Alpha and other prominent financial platforms. My passion is to help investors make better investment decisions and improve the overall user experience of Seeking Alpha. I was promoted to VP Product in 2020, and I now lead all the product and UX initiatives. I’m married with 7 children and enjoy reading history and science.

I joined Seeking Alpha as VP of Global HR in January 2021, to lead the company’s people practices and translate our business vision into HR initiatives that improve performance, growth, and employee engagement. I previously served as VP of Global HR at SysAid Tech and Head of HR at Emmerson. I have a BA in Behavioral Science from the University of Ben Gurion and an MBA.

Abby Estikangi-Carmel

VP Content

My Seeking Alpha journey began in 2006 as an article editor, recruited by our first Editor in Chief whose enthusiasm for Seeking Alpha was infectious. The idea of providing investors with a level playing ground to share insights was as exciting then as it is now! Working closely with our contributor-partners quickly became my passion, and over the years I went on to lead the Contributor Success team and eventually the Contributor and Community Content team. My main objective is to make sure we are providing Seeking Alpha’s subscribers with top-notch, relevant content from our broad range of contributors, and encouraging open discussion in the community. I have a BA in History and English Literature and an MA in Information Sciences, both from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In my IDF service, I worked as a liaison to UN forces deployed on the country's northern borders, which inspired a lifelong dream to move to more rural surroundings. I now live with my very own Brady Bunch (and assorted pets and wildlife) in the beautiful North of Israel, spending most of my free time feeding all of them, taking nature walks and tending my garden.

Eran Preisler

VP Finance

I bring over 14 years of finance experience to Seeking Alpha, in shaping and leading finance operations and teams. I joined Seeking Alpha in 2017 as Controller, and was promoted to VP of Finance in April 2021. I previously served as a Controller at Nice Ltd., a publicly traded company that provides cloud platforms for AI-driven business solutions. This followed two years as Nice’s Revenue Accountant. I’m a certified public accountant, and have a BA in Economics and Accounting and an MBA from Tel Aviv University.

Rita Feigin

I joined Seeking Alpha in June 2021. For the past 15 years I have been representing private and publicly traded international corporations across all industries. My practice focuses on M&As, IPOs, securities laws and commercial transactions, as well as daily consultation to all company’s stakeholders. I love navigating through complex laws and regulations to distill practical business solutions. I thrive on leading meaningful transactions that bring about transformation and growth. Previously, I served as legal counsel at Caesarstone Ltd. and Lumenis Ltd. Prior to that, I worked at an international department of a leading law firm counseling a range of tech companies and venture capital funds. I have an LLB from Bar Ilan University in Israel and an LLM from the New York University School of Law. I am a qualified attorney in Israel and New York.
