But if you're ignoring Cyber Monday, you could be missing out — Cyber Monday deals can totally be worth your time. Some Cyber Monday sales even last several additional days and turn into Cyber Week sales!

The short answer to whether Cyber Monday is worth it is a resounding yes! We've seen some Cyber Mondays boast more deals than Black Friday. And even during the years they fall slightly short, these start-of-the-week events still have strong offers worth checking out.

You don't have to choose between in-store or online shopping on Cyber Monday. You can count on all the deals being online!

One of the perks of Cyber Monday shopping is you don't have to choose between online or in-store. That's because you can count on all the deals on Cyber Monday being online — hence the name. What's more, retailers use Cyber Monday as an opportunity to provide sitewide coupons. So it can be a good time to do a lot of shopping, instead of picking up one or two items. And considering coupons often stack, the level of savings can sometimes beat what you'd see on Black Friday.

Is Cyber Monday Too Late to Get a Good Deal?

Cyber Monday is far from too late to get a good deal. In fact, it can have more and better-quality deals than Black Friday, especially if you focus on the best products to shop that day.

In 2022, about 30% of the deals we listed on Cyber Monday were Staff Pick-worthy, or "best of the best" offers. Compare that to Thanksgiving and Black Friday last year, which had 28% and 26% Staff Pick deals, respectively, and it's easy to see how Cyber Monday can hold its own. But not all the Cyber Monday deals will be winners, so check out our breakdown of what categories to focus on to streamline your shopping.

What to Buy at Cyber Monday Sales in 2023

Cameras

If you're a budding shutterbug — or know someone who is — then Cyber Monday may be the best time of year to score great deals on pricey equipment. This includes the DSLR models from huge brands like Canon and Nikon. But Cyber Monday is a good opportunity to pick up other discounted cameras, as well.

Great deals on clothing and shoes can appear throughout the Black Friday and Cyber Monday holidays.

Last year had notable offers like the GoPro Hero 8 Black at Target for $229, which was the lowest-ever price for the action cam. (You can find more camera deals at Target here.) While it's no longer part of GoPro's lineup — and that was already the case on Cyber Monday 2022 — it's still a solid model for those who are starting to investigate action cams and aren't sure yet what kinds of bells and whistles they'll need.

If you're interested in other GoPro models, it's worth watching their store directly on Cyber Monday 2023. Last year, the GoPro Hero 9 Black and a GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini cost around $262 each for shoppers who opted for a GoPro subscription. Without it, the prices for these models were $297 and $340, respectively. So if you're interested in a particular GoPro, see if you can get a great deal just by opting for a subscription and purchasing direct from the company.

Looking for more traditional cameras? Amazon camera deals last year included the Panasonic Lumix GH5 Mark II for $1,398. That's a higher price tag, but it was also one of the lowest-ever prices for this model. The online retailer also offered the Canon EOS R10 body for $879, while Best Buy had the same camera bundled with an RF-S 18-45mm lens for $999.

Kitchen Items

Kitchen items are a popular deal category during both Black Friday and Cyber Monday. And on both dates last year, we saw solid numbers of overall kitchen deals and Staff Pick offers. But Cyber Monday edged ahead of Black Friday. About 41% of the kitchen deals we saw on Cyber Monday were Staff Picks, including notable offers such as these:

• 64-ounce Coffee Gator coffee canister for $11
• Bean Envy 32-ounce cold brew coffee maker for $12
• NutriBullet 1,200-watt blender for $35
• PowerXL Vortex Pro 8-quart air fryer for $50
• Cuisinart Grind & Brew single-serve coffee maker for $64

We also saw an excellent offer for small kitchen appliances at Kohl's in general. Their sale offered up to 63% off, plus an additional 20% off and $10 off of $50. And every $50 spent earned $15 in Kohl's Cash!

Major Appliances

If you're shopping for major appliances during Cyber Monday sales in 2023, note that you may find the best deals by shopping directly at manufacturers. For instance, last year we saw KitchenAid offer up to 30% off plus an extra 5% off during its Cyber Monday appliance sale. Deals included the following:

• Up to $690 off microwaves
• Up to $707 off refrigerators
• Up to $758 off ranges

What if you're looking for a particular brand of major appliances? Then check on their websites to see if they're running any specials for Cyber Monday. In the past we've seen offers from Samsung as well as brands like Whirlpool, so if you're striking out when shopping at home improvement stores or warehouse clubs, it could be worth going straight to the source.

Toys

Whether you're doing holiday shopping for someone who's young or just young-at-heart, there's a good chance Cyber Monday 2023 will have toy deals to keep your budget in check. Last year, some of the standout offers we saw included the Hot Wheels Toxic Gorilla Slam set for $25, an Arcade1UP Super Pac-Man 1-player countercade for $100 that came bundled with a $75 Dell gift card, a Little Tikes inflatable backyard soccer and basketball court for $174, and a Jetson Knight adult electric scooter for $348.

Expect Cyber Monday sales to feature good deals on LEGO sets and console bundles.

Looking for video game deals? We saw the Xbox Series S 512GB all-digital console holiday bundle for $240 at Amazon, plus shoppers earned $40 in Amazon credit via a code during checkout. As long as they used the gift card, they could take advantage of the best price we'd ever seen on this item.

Some incredible LEGO deals showed up, too, including the Star Wars The Mandalorian Imperial Light Cruiser set for $96; most other stores were charging at least $128 for it. We also saw the best price on the LEGO Ideas Friends Central Perk set, as it dropped to $40.

2 More Things to Consider Buying at Cyber Monday Sales

Clothing

Clothing is another category we could see impressive deals on during Cyber Monday. During the 2022 season, Cyber Monday boasted a huge number of clothing deals, and about 33% of the offers we saw that day earned our Staff Pick designation.

Notable offers included a Lands' End men's Hyde Park supima oxford dress shirt for $12, an adidas men's Own the Run T-shirt for $12, Levi's men's 541 athletic taper jeans for $17, and an REI Co-op men's lightweight base layer half-zip top for $22. We also saw designer and other big brands on sale, including outlet items. Here are some examples:

• Up to 60% off plus an extra 30% off select items at Tory Burch
• Up to 70% off plus an extra 25% to 30% off at Coach Outlet
• Up to 90% off Saks Off 5th Cyber Deals

Other notable Cyber Monday sales showed up, as well. They included "buy one, get one free" shirts during the Woot Cyber Monday Shirt Sale and ugly holiday sweaters at Kohl's for up to 68% off, plus 20% off and $10 off $50. Need clothes for the kids? Carter's is a good bet, as their Cyber Monday sale is offering up to 60% off sitewide, with doorbusters starting around $4.

Shoes

Like clothing discounts, shoe deals are everywhere from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday. Last year, we saw a similar number of shoe deals on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But only about 35% were Staff Picks on Black Friday, versus a huge 50% the following Monday.

Cyber Monday sales are a great time to get footwear for the whole family, including shoes from big brands like Nike and adidas.

Watch for retailers to offer excellent prices on athletic shoes. In 2022, we saw ASICS men's GEL-Contend 6 running shoes for $28, Nike men's Downshifter 12 road running shoes for $30, Nike men's Air Monarch IV shoes for $34, Nike men's SuperRep Go 3 Next Nature Flyknit shoes for $44, and Nike men's Air Huarache Crater premium shoes for $55.

Keep an eye out for deals on other types of shoes, as well. They could range from adidas men's Adilette Aqua slides for $10, to adidas men's Originals Adilette clogs for $13, to Nike men's Victori One slide sandals for $13. Looking for savings on something cozy to wear? Watch for Nike women's Burrow slippers to go for around $26 again this year.
