On Medicaid? Eligibility Checks Are Returning!

During the pandemic, regular Medicaid eligibility checks were suspended. The federal government is going to allow states to start resuming eligibility checks and terminating people from Medicaid starting in April if they no longer qualify. It is very important that you give the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services your current contact information so you can be informed about the status of your Medicaid coverage. You don’t need to pay any sort of fee to apply or fill out eligibility renewal paperwork for Medicaid. If someone tries to charge you a fee to apply or fill out renewal paperwork for Medicaid, you should report it to HHS.Click below for the Iowa Medicaid website for additional information.

Facing Eviction? Help is available through Iowa Legal Aid’s Six Eviction Diversion Help Desks.

Iowa Legal Aid is operating Eviction Diversion Help Desks at or near courthouses throughout the state. These help desks provide free legal assistance to eligible applicants, to help Iowans preserve their housing and avoid immediate homelessness.
