In order to be awarded Honor Roll status, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.75 or better. Merit Roll status is awarded to those students who achieve an average of 3.00 to 3.749.

Honor Roll - A grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the 9 week grading period. Merit Roll - A grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 9 week grading period. No student will be placed on the Honor / Merit Roll if they receive a D or F in the same grading period, regardless of GPA.

Honor Roll GPA must equal a 3.30 or higher • High Honor Roll GPA must equal a 3.7 or higher • When calculating the Honor Roll GPA use the chart below and average out all letter grades.

Cum laude grade point average estimates: gpa for cum laude - 3.5 to 3.7; gpa for magna cum laude - 3.8 to 3.9; gpa for summa cum laude - 4.0+.

Merit means "worthiness or excellence." If you receive a certificate of merit in school, you are being recognized for doing a good job.

What is the Honor Roll? You are on the Principal's Honor Roll if you earn an “A” in every class. You can still earn the regular Honor Roll if you earn all A's and B's with no more than one C. You must have at least one “A” if you have one “C” as your Grade Point Average (GPA) must be a 3.0.
