"Great suburb that has it all"

Close to the city, public transport, parks, highway and friendly people.
The suburb mostly being in the catchment for the Brisbane South State Secondary College is a huge bonus.

"Convenient & great for families with lots of green space"

Excellent accessibility to public transport, bikeways and motorway. Lots of green space and playgrounds for kids. Great local community full of diversity thanks to the many different property types - older units, new units and lots of young families. Local park run and walking groups and awesome cafes and access to shopping such as Aldi, IGA and Coles. We’ve been here 13 years and love it!

"Cool up and coming suburb close to the city"

My partner and i purchased our first home in Greenslopes in Dec 2018. We were drawn to the area for the value for money, proximity to the city and motorways and potential for stones corner to become a cool bar, dining and shopping hub. Shops are super close and handy and everyone has been so friendly so far.

Atlas Brisbane Inner South

"The Inner City Gem"

Tucked away close to the motorway and only a short trip into the CBD, Greenslopes is an old suburb named after the farming land it was set and now is a popular inner city suburb sought after by investors and owner occupiers. Stones Corner is currently being revitalised with big developments set to take place. The new shopping centre on the corner or Chatsworth Rd and Logan Rd is always busy with IGA, Sushi, a Coffee shop etc. Greenslopes Mall is the largest place to shop but is becoming slightly dated. Overall Greenslopes is convenient and a great place to call home.

Great for

  • Sporting fields
  • Large private hospital with new birthing suites
  • Public transport / busway
  • Proximity to city
  • Proximity to major shops, hospitals...
  • Lovely neighbourhood feel
  • Very vibrant and diverse mix of people

"A pleasant suburb near the motorway"

Greenslopes is a pleasant middle and working class suburb reasonably close to the CBD. It has the advantage of being very close to the motorway which makes commuters more likely to choose this suburb based on mere convenience. There are many apartment buildings in this suburb which do not detract from the pleasant leafy appeal of this suburb. The Greenslopes Private hospital is also a big plus for those who want a hospital close by. Downside is the parking on the streets can be tough due to staff members from the hospital parking on the streets but also due to the occupiers of a multitude of apartment buildings all requiring parking on street.

Great for

  • Public transport / busway
  • Very vibrant and diverse mix of people

Not great for

  • Hospital staff and visitors park everywhere
  • Some flooding from Bulimba creek

"Love Greenslopes"

My grandmother lives here and I have many fond memories of Greenslopes. This is a great suburb - has the best private hospital in Qld, okay range of shops and so close to the city. My grandmother loves it here as she feels safe, has a good range of local shops and has many elderly friends here (are many old people here). Only problem is the zippy pathology cars that fly along the streets to and from the hospital. Also, if you live near the hospital, your street will be full of cars.

"Simply one of the best suburbs on the Southside"

From a townplanning perspective there are few suburbs that rival Greenslopes. Proximity to the freeway, the City, the Gabba and to the Eastern suburbs and the Bayside suburbs via Old Cleveland Rd make it a truly special suburb. Add the Busway and you've got great public transport options. As a past resident of the suburb for over 9 years which included owning our own home as well as investment properties in the suburb you won't find a bigger advocate for Greenslopes than myself. As an agent who actively works in the area I still ahve a soft spot for Greenslopes. If you're looking at buying or selling in the area I'd love to help.......www.rodwesterhuis.com.au

"Greenslopes - new and loving it"

I have just moved to greenslopes. I love being so close to the city and the transport in the area is great. I find that I have easy access to pacific highway, which lets me go south, west and north with ease. The clem 7 is good for going north as well, although not so necessary when you can go up the pacific highway, take the ICB and you are there in pretty much the same time anyway.
I live on Logan rd and it surprised me how quite the traffic gets after about 10pm at night. I don't even notice it.
The area is pretty multicultural as well, which I like.
The Woolloongabba restaurant precinct is starting to expand down to stones corner, along stanley street and in to Coorparoo. There are now some great places to eat and drink with quirky cafes (Lady Marmalade or Vintage kitchen and closet), hidden gems (Gillian's nursery cafe), fine dining restaurants(Enotecca) and great little bars (Canvas). I still haven't tried them all!

"Greenslopes is a great place for all ages"

Greenslopes is great for families. We relocated from Victoria over 18 years ago and have never looked back. We had a great selection of schools, both private and public. All schools in the area offer quality education. There are many sporting clubs in and around the area. Close to the Gabba for AFL and Cricket. The public transport is great, especially great when you have teenage children. Even though we are very close to the city, traffic noise in our area is very minimal. To drive into the city during non peak hour take about 7 -10 minutes, a bit longer during peak time. But altogether, traffic congestion in and around the area is not too bad at all.Greenslopes shopping mall offers an array of different retailer, with a coles supermarket, butcher and fruit shop. The best thing about the shopping mall is that parking is easy and convenient. The major hospitals, The Princess Alexandra hospital (public) and Greenslopes Private Hospital are located in the area. Both these hospitals offer excellent medical care. There is a diversity of housing styles from the traditional Queenslander to large contemporary homes. Overall, we love living in Greenslopes because of the convenient location and would highly recommend it as a great place to reside

Great suburb close to the city and transport links. Also very easy acces to pacific highway for accessing the Gold Coast and also the Clem 7 for accessing the Northside and Sunshine Coast. Walking distance to Stones Corner and Greenslopes shopping centre with easy access to numerous buses to and from the city. Many character homes and a good prvate hospital. All this in a small suburb close to the city - what more could you want!

"A great suburb close to the city"

Greenslopes is a fantastic suburb on Brisbane's southside. Its close proximity to the freeway means that getting anywere is a breeze - however, depending on where in Greenslopes you live and where you need to get to, you may experience some congestion around peak hour (I have never had a problem with this though). The public transport options are excellent and for the energetic, a bikeway which gets you into the city within 25 minutes.

"An easy suburb to live in"

The best things about Greenslopes: easy access to city whether by bus (busway in particular) or car; easy access to both south and north coasts, now that the Inner City Bypass is available. Most streets are quiet, although traffic on Ridge Street is getting heavier. Although there is an increasing amount of in-fill developmenet occuring, most of it is sensitive to the area. Could do without townhouses being built at the back of existing Queenslanders though.
Also easy access to major shopping area, the hospital of course and bikeways.

Things that Greenslopes could improve: a wider variety of decent cafes and restaurants. We have the Stones Corner precinct which has no restaurants at all (apart from basic sushi and Thai). This area is a natural for setting up a group of restaurants in the Martha Street, Camp Hill mode. Get to it - prospective restauranteurs!

"A good suburb close to the City"

Greenslopes is largely situated on a hill approximately 4 km south of Brisbane City. It contains a mixture of upper end residential dwellings on the ridgeline and lower end units in the lower parts. Most houses on the ridgeline (above Ridge Street) are above $600k and many feature glistening city views comparable with any in Brisbane. Housing styles range from traditional Queenslanders to modern mansions. There is great potential to pick up 400 sq blocks for the building of new homes (subject to DCP). Greenslopes is dominated by the presence of the Greenslopes Hospital, the best private hospital in Queensland which makes it popular with doctors nurses and other health professionals. Greenslopes is awaiting the urban renewal trend that is affecting Camp Hill and Coorparoo and is still undervalued. Greenslopes has the Busway running through it which gives a 10 minute ride into the city. Some area around the hospital have parking problems, but no more than other similar areas. Have lived in the area for while and think its a nice place to live. Is a quick taxi ride home from City after a night out.

"A great place to call home"

What an amazing place to live!
As an agent specializing in suburb for a number of years I regularly receive very positive comments from residents living in the suburb and purchasers that have just moved to the area.
Just 4-5km south of the city with easy access to the south east freeway and excellent public transport Greenslopes is the perfect place to live. Enjoy north facing city views and breezes from the elevated streets. Contemporary homes combine with traditional queenslanders that are filled with character and charm. A smaller suburb that is tightly held by the residents living there.
The suburb is home to the largest private hospital in Australia with many of the countries leading doctors, nurses and medical staff calling Greenslopes home. There is no shortage of hospital staff, so finding a tenant for investment properties is never hard.
An express busway is located in the suburb allowing hassle free efficient travel in and out of the CBD. The Greenslopes shopping centre is convenient and offers a range of shops for everyday living. The vibrant Stones Corner cafe precinct is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee whilst browsing the numerous boutique retail outlets.
With schools, parks, sporting fields, bowling clubs and numerous other facilities in the suburb regardless of what stage of your life you are at Greenslopes is a great place to call home.

"Waiting to be rejuvenated."

Greenslopes is pretty good by way of public transport in terms of volume of services, although buses are often late. It is conveniently located close to the city, has good grocery facilites and an excellent network of bike paths. Getting out of the suburb can be problematic in peak times, due to the build up of traffic on both the Pacific Motorway and the Riverside Express, but usually it is hassle free. There's some nice parks in the area and it feels pretty safe. It's dining scene won't set the world on fire but it is improving. Greenslopes feels like a suburb on the cusp of renewal.
