A recent study found that Google Chrome is the most vulnerable browser, with 303 vulnerabilities as of current and a total of 3,159 vulnerabilities as of 2022.
These statistics, which cover the period from January 1, 2022, to October 5, 2022, are based on information from the VulDB vulnerability database, according to a report by Atlas VPN.
The only browser with new flaws in the last five days of October is Google Chrome. CVE-2022-3318, CVE-2022-3314, CVE-2022-3311, CVE-2022-3309, and CVE-2022-3307 are recent examples.
The CVE programme monitors security holes and weaknesses on various platforms. Although the database does not yet contain information on these weaknesses, the report stated that they may cause memory corruption on a computer.
By updating to Google Chrome version 106.0.5249.61, users can address these.
With 117 vulnerabilities, Mozilla's Firefox browser is in second place overall.
As of October 5, Microsoft Edge had 103 vulnerabilities, which is 61% more than the full year of 2021. Since its release, it has had 806 vulnerabilities in total.
Next, and with some of the lowest levels of vulnerabilities, is Safari. It has 26 vulnerabilities, for instance, in the first three quarters of 2022, and 1,139 overall since its release, according to the research.
In contrast, there were only 344 vulnerabilities in the entire Opera browser as of the beginning of 2022.
Apple has been putting a lot of effort into making sure its browser is safe to use and has over a billion users as of May 2022.
