Your SafeSearch Setting (2024)

SafeSearch is designed to detect explicit content like p*rnography and graphic violence on Google Search. If you don’t want to see explicit content in your search results, you can select Filter to block any explicit content that’s been detected, or Blur to blur explicit images.

SafeSearch is set to Filter automatically when Google's systems indicate you may be under 18.

If you can’t change your SafeSearch setting, it might be because it’s being controlled by your account, device, or network administrator. For example, parents and schools can lock SafeSearch to Filter for child and student accounts. SafeSearch Filter can also be built into public Wi-Fi networks (like at an airport or library), parental controls on your operating system, and antivirus software, which may override your individual SafeSearch setting.
