Dry your comforters faster with these two everyday items (2024)

Comforters can take forever to dry because they tend to bunch up in the dryer in a sushi roll of sogginess. The stuffing inside tends to clump together, too, making the blanket a lumpy mess. But there is a trick to getting a super fluffy comforter that dries quickly. Look no further than the sports section of your department store and your own linen closet.

Throw two tennis balls in the dryer with your comforter and set it on a low heat tumble. The tennis balls help prevent bunching and twisting by bouncing against the comforter as it dries. Don't worry, this trick won't hurt your dryer.

Don't have tennis balls? You can use balls of aluminum foil in a pinch.

For extra drying power, throw a dry, clean bath towel into the dryer, as well. After 15-20 minutes, remove the towel but don't take the tennis balls out. The towel will absorb a lot of the moisture in the dryer, making the comforter dry faster.
