Ultimately, Discogs is a platform where sellers compete against each other and offer the least possible price which tends to increase chances of sales. This ultimately reduces profits. eBay on the other hand allows sellers to create fixed price listings but also allows sellers to list products in auctions.

The median value of your collection on Discogs is the most accurate depiction of how much your records are worth. This number will be simultaneously larger and smaller than you think it should be.

A very common question that comes up frequently is this one: “Can I skip tracks on vinyl?” The plain and simple answer to that is: Yes. You can skip tracks on vinyl records. Anyone can do it. However, just because it can be done doesn't necessarily mean that it's the wisest thing to do to your vinyl.

Records shouldn't be stored horizontally, or flat. As you will see, archival record boxes are designed for the records to be stood and stored vertically. Storing vinyl records flat can place too much pressure on the records lower in the stack causing damage over time.

Pricing is probably the hardest part of selling on Discogs. We all want our records to be worth $500 each, but that's going to go nowhere. When you sell on Discogs, they suggest a median sale price for the record over the last month, and it's up to you how much higher or lower you want to go from that.

If you're buying & selling it falls under reportable income and you have always had to report it, new laws are just forcing third party facilitators like Discogs, or Ebay, to also report your sales to the IRS.

If you have enough of the right stock, I think that it is perfectly feasible to make a living from discogs. However I think that it is wise to sell different items on different sites in order to get more exposure and better prices.

Vinyl records should always be stored in an upright position to ensure they maintain their condition. Records that slant for long periods of time or are stacked on top of one another can warp from the pressure. You might even consider using crates to help to position your records upright.

Well the answer is FLAT! Unless you buy vinyl in a roll, the best way to store it is flat because if you roll it up then it doesn't stick to the mat as well and it doesn't cut as well.
