No lies told, by the time I worked on this post-I was ready to kick 2018 to the curb. For the first two weeks of December I was struggling to move around because my back was still messed up. Fortunately, I had the chance to relax in Breckenridge. Unfortunately, the bed bothered my back. So, I sat in front of the fireplace or soaked in the hot tub while I was there. At this point all I wanted to do was read, stay in bed, drink golden lattes, and sleep.

End of the Year

Real talk-2018 tired me out. It was a crazy, bonkers, insane year. And, I’m not just talking about my life. The energy in country is way too intense right now in all the wrong ways. Every day I feel like shaking my head or eating popcorn. At the end of the day, I’ve learned the importance of focusing on self-care and I’m making self-care one of my top priorities in the New Year.

December’s earnings were significantly lower and, truth be told, I ran out of steam. So, instead of trying to force myself to write another book, sell a ton of courses, etc. I rested. Because sometimes you just have to listen to your body. And, after experiencing depressing this summer, an eye twitch for the entire fall…until after the election, and hurting my back-I was done.

2018 Blog Income Report $303.55

My reports currently only include passive income only. I do earn money freelance writing and with a fun side-hustle. But, I believe that what you focus on grows and I really wanted to grow my passive income. Going into 2019, I am letting go of actively side-hustling. This was a hard decision until it wasn’t.

I really enjoy my side-hustle, BUT, at times it can affect the amount of time I have to focus on growing my business. Instead of side-hustling I could be:

  • Writing more books
  • Creating blog content
  • Pitching for freelance clients
  • Working on marketing my stuff.

Now that I am experiencing consistent results, I feel comfortable letting go of side-hustles. Currently, these reports are for payouts that I’ve actually received. I never share partial payments, or anything that hasn’t hit the payout threshold.

  • $20.60 iMark Interactive-Grayson Bell is my go to guy for all things related to WordPress tech issues.
  • $11.12 Amazon Affiliates-I’m finally getting consistent Amazon payouts.

Please note: I do not currently share freelance income or side-hustle income in these reports (this may change in 2019).

Pending Payout

This income was earned during the month and has hit the payout threshold-but, will be paid several months from now.

Total earned by my blog in December=$420.72

I could make a joke about $420…but, I’m just going to let it go LOL!

Thinking About Starting a Blog?

I love blogging! It has been an incredible experience, transformed my life, and connected me with a ton of amazing people. Blogging is a pretty cheap activity and I recommend hosting your blog withSiteground. Many bloggers have begun leaving HostGator and BlueHost and moving to Siteground. Myself included! Readwhy I’m leaving HostGator and BlueHost(I have 2 blogs one on each hosting platform) and moving to Siteground. If you’re a new bloggerSitegroundwill cost around $3.95 a month (depending on the size of your audience). They have great customer service and tutorials on how to host your new WordPress blog on Siteground

Online Business Resources

If you’re thinking about starting an online business, the resources below are a great way to get started.

  • The Ultimate List of FinCon Community Products
    • Courses
    • Books
    • Swag
  • Make Money with EbooksThere is more than one way to make money with your writing skills. I’ve created this course to help inspire, educate, and support writers who are sitting on a book idea…and are afraid to write it. This is YOUR year. Make Money with Ebooks is offered at three different tiers to meet different student needs.
    • Self-Study
    • Group Program-Includes access to the closed Facebook Group and twice a month live office hours.
    • VIP Program-Includes access to the closed Facebook Group, twice a month live office hours, and 2 meetings with Michelle to work on book related strategies, goals, etc.
  • Making Sense of Affiliate Income-If you’re looking to make affiliate income with your blog, Michelle Schroeder-Gardner’s course is the course that I recommend. She makes well over a $1 Million a year blogging and the biggest chunk of her income comes from affiliate marketing.
  • $10KVAAre you curious about becoming a Virtual Assistant as a side-hustle or a potential full-time gig? My friend Kayla Sloan is killing it as a Virtual Assistant and schooling other entrepreneurs in how to become a VA that earns on average $10KVA. This course is what I recommend as the first part of creating a virtual assistant business.
  • IMark InteractiveGrayson Bell helps me with all of my website related tech issuesand he is THE go to guy for WordPress related tech in the several different blogging niches (all the Personal Finance peeps work with him).
  • Elite Blog Academy-Many bloggers have gone through this courseand I consider this course the “Granddaddy” of all blogging courses. It’s not cheap, but in additional to getting all of the resources that are key to building an incredible blog, you’re also become a part of an insanely supportive (and huge) community of bloggers. Many of whom are making crazy money.
