Chief Joseph Ranch (2)

In 1914, directing the attention of his architects to the then-newly built Old Faithful Inn at Yellowstone and the lodges under construction at Glacier National Park, William Ford, glass tycoon from Toledo, Ohio, began the arduous, three-year endeavor to build what is now called the Chief Joseph Ranch in Montana’s Bitterroot Valley.

Chief Joseph Ranch is located 1 mile south of Darby along the beautiful Bitterroot River and has been featured in Architectural Digest, American Log Homes, the Barns of Montana, and the outdoor show Fly Fishing the World.

Traditionally offering accommodations in two log homes during the summer months the ranch is currently closed for filming of the Paramount television series, Yellowstone. We cannot take inquiries, reservation, or conduct tours at this time. Please check back in February 2020 for updated information.
