Arataki Itto, the self-proclaimed First and Greatest Head of the Arataki Gang, is a major playable character in the 2020 action role-playing fantasy video game Genshin Impact.
Arataki was an oni native to Inazuma reputed for his delinquent behavior. He spent most of his days lazing around, only actually working when he needed the money to make ends meet. He founded and led a group he called the "Arataki Gang," although it was really just a gathering of his friends rather than an actual organization. Due to his disruptive attitude, Itto had a tense relationship with the Raiden Shogun's Army. During the Vision Hunt Decree, he formed an intense yet mostly one-sided rivalry with the Shogun's tengu enforcer Kujou Sara.
Arataki is voiced by Zhaokun Liu in Chinese and by Max Mittelman in English. Mittelman has also voiced Saitama in One Punch Man, Red XIII in Final Fantasy VII Remake, Plagg in Miraculous Ladybug, Ryuji Sakamoto in Persona 5, King in The Seven Deadly Sins, Shirou Tokisada Amakusa in Fate, Sabito in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Kira Yamato in Mobile Suit Gundam, and Lion-O in ThunderCats Roar.

Synopsis[]
Childhood[]
Arataki Itto was an outgoing oni who lived in Inazuma, an archipelago nation ruled over by the Raiden Shogun. As members of the oni species, Itto and his parents were treated with mistrust by humans who forced them out of their village after a series of robberies cast suspicions on them. Itto's parents later died of illness, leaving the young oni to fend for himself as a street urchin. Eventually, Arataki collapsed from exhaustion and hunger on the street after receiving a beating from a group of ruffians.
An elderly human woman came across the battered Itto and nursed him back to health, leading Arataki to disregard his growing hatred of humans. The old lady, whom Arataki referred to as "Granny Oni," began raising Itto as her son. At some point later in his youth, Itto got into an argument with a tengu at Byakko Plain that resulted in a sumo match. The oni and tengu were sent tumbling down a mountain during their fight, resulting in Itto being carried all the way home by the tengu due to a sprained ankle.
The Arataki Gang[]
Overtime, Arataki became the ringleader of a group of close friends including Inazumans named Akira, Genta, Mamoru, and Kuki Shinobu that he called the "Arataki Gang." It was a gang in name only however, as they mostly just loitered around and had no proper organization. One morning Itto awoke to find that the Gods had gifted him a Geo Vision in his sleep, a gem that would allow him to manipulate Geo elemental energy. Arataki was incredibly proud to have been chosen and went around all day showing people his Vision until they grew annoyed.
Despite the ambition needed to possess a Vision, Itto spent most of his time lazing around and only took mercenary work when his funds ran low. He spent a lot of time competing with children such as Shouta in bug-fighting arenas yet, due to his competitive nature, he never held back against them. Naganohara Yoimiya, a local firework maker, also frequently participated in Itto's competitions which would usually end in one-on-one showdowns between the two of them.
At some point Arataki partook in an eating contest with Yae Miko, the kitsune responsible for overseeing the Grand Narukami Shrine. The contest arose after a dispute over who had the right to sit in Itto's favourite chair at his favourite food stand. The food used for the contest contained Fried Tofu, a type of bean that Arataki was allergic to. Regardless, the Oni soldiered through and emerged the victor. Miko paid the bill for Itto's meal, although Arataki was subsequently bedridden for a month.
Vision Hunt Decree[]
Eventually, the Shogun introduced a policy called the Vision Hunt Decree that required all Vision bearers to hand over their Visions to the authorities. Although Itto resisted the Vision Hunt Decree, his Vision was nevertheless taken after he was defeated in a duel by the Shogun's tengu enforcer Kujou Sara. Unlike many Vision bearers who became shells of their former selves after having their Visions taken, Arataki maintained his boisterous personality.
Following his defeat, Arataki challenged Kujou to a rematch that would consist of the pair of them sumo wrestling at the crossroads in Inazuma City. Although she initially planned to accept his request, Kujou backed out once she learned what their duel would consist of. Arataki then began earnestly pursuing Kujou across the islands of Inazuma in the hopes of earning a rematch.
He left messages on message boards all across the nation challenging her to a duel, although she always ignored and/or denied his requests.
After Ei abolished the Vision Hun Decree, his Vision was finally returned to him by the Shogunate.
