6 Tech Investments for your Blog and Business That are Worth Every Penny (2024)

I’m so pumped and excited to write this blog post…as I am a huge techie and lover of tech tools.

One of the questions that I get asked a lot from my peeps is:

“What are some of the best tech tools to use for business and running a WordPress blog?

To be honest…

It depends…on a few things:

1. In what you want to use the tools for
2. Your budget

It was hard for me to narrow down this list as there are a lot of tech tools out there in the marketplace that you can run a site or business with….

But…

In this post, I’m covering some of the best tech tech tools that I have invested in that have given me the BIGGEST bang for my buck.

These 6 tools have been essential to my biz and brands growth.

Tool #1: Thrive Content Builder (Landing Page + Visual Editor)

You may have heard me mention Thrive Content Builder here…and it’s only because it’s one of the most powerful plugins I have ever invested in.

It’s the plugin that I used to redesign my blog earlier this year, create EPIC landing pages for my webinarsand funnels on this blog.

But seriously…

This plugin is super dope because it’s tailored for conversions.

What does this mean?

It means that the folks over at Thrive are all about tailoring their WordPress plugins to help you grow your biz.

This is what sets them apart from other peeps out there.

As an example:

It used to cost major moolah to build landing pages back in the day. Before tech plugins like Thrive Content Builder were created, if you wanted to build a landing page, you would have to:

• Hire a developer to write code for the page (which equals) to big bucks….
• Get someone to design the page for you (designers are not cheap)
• Integrate the landing page with your email service provider (aka more development fees)

#1: It’s affordable (you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for the software). That’s right…The Thrive Leads plugin will set you back a one-time fee of just $97 bucks. Gotta Love it.

#2:It gives you some of the BEST metrics. I run a lot of content upgrades on my site. If you’re not familiar with content upgrades here’s what they do:

Content upgrades are freebies related to a specific blog post that you give away in exchange for a visitors email address.

Well…

With Thrive Leads you can see metrics and stats about how your content upgrades are performing. This data will show you where you should make updates and tweaks to improve your conversion rates.

#3: The Reporting. Oh me oh my….The reporting feature alone is top notch on this tool.

With Thrive Leads, you can see things like:

• A lead referral report – this tells you what source of traffic your email subbies found you from (Google, Pinterest, Facebook, and etc)

• A content marketing report – that shows you your highest converting blog posts

• Conversion rate report – gives you a daily conversion report of how your site is converting

Tool #3: Active Campaign (Email Marketing Automation)

Ummm —– > I do not even know where to begin with Active Campaign guys…

This is one of the most powerful email marketing and automation platforms I’ve ever used.

I switched from Aweber to Active Campaign months after I started YCG blog. And I have not looked back.

In truth…

I needed a smarter way to manage my email and to do things like:

• Apply tags to my subbies based in their interest
• Send abandoned cart automations to folks that visit a specific item, but don’t buy
• Trigger specific emails based on actions and etc…

And…

Active Campaign is super affordable too. I’m currently paying $17 a month for the service.

Tool#4: Thrive Focus Blog (Conversion Focused WordPress Theme)

Okay, soooo yes I am a on the Thrive Themes train here…

And it’s only because they make amazing products.

Earlier this year, I was using the Studiopress Digital Pro Theme, but later switched to the Thrive Focus Blog theme to ruin my WordPress blog.

I made the switch because I discovered that the Digital Pro Theme was incompatible with Thrive Content Builder.

The Focus Blog theme allows me to change up the homepage of my website whenever I need to.

Plus:

The Thrive Focus Blog is blazing fast and has several other features that I love.

Things like integrated social sharing tools, automatic page generators and etc help you take a plain vanilla theme and turn it into a lead generation powerhouse for your biz.

Tool #5. Deadline Funnel (Adds Deadlines to Marketing Campaigns)

Lemme go off the record and state that Deadline Funnel is prolly one of the BEST da#n tech investments I’ve made in a while.

At first, I was hesitant to invest in Deadline Funnels because there is a monthly fee associated with the service.

But…

Deadline funnel (with all its features is just too good to pass up)

For one:

The customer support for the platform is top notch. An account specialist from their team will work with you to make sure that your marketingcampaigns go off without a hitch.

Deadline Funnel integrates with my Teachable school, newsletter campaigns and email autoresponders. This tool makes it super easy to add scarcity to my marketing campaigns.

#6. Thrive Cart

Sooo this tool is pretty powerful! Thrive Cart is a tech tool that you can use to build high converting shopping cart pages with.

For example,

If you have an eBook that you are selling from your website or blog, and want to add an upsell to that check out — you can use ThriveCart to do it.

I really didn’t want to invest in ThriveCart at first… because I didn’t see the benefit to using it.

But now I do…

Sooo all of the packages that I sell and other goodies that I use for Tripwire offers and etc, I use ThriveCart to process those transactions.

It is a nifty tool.
