Today I am going to talk about some ways to outsource work to save you time and money. We can all use a little more time and money in our day. Can’t we? Below are 5 ways to outsource jobs to help you stay organized and on target with your business goals.

The Bookkeeping Process

Bookkeeping includes Accounts Payable. From reconciling bank account and credit card statements to paying bills through a bill pay system, it will really free up your time. This can also involve payroll services.

Online Marketing Tasks

Now on to another big area that sucks the time and money out of your day! It’s Online Marketing. This includes social media management and PPC advertising. Now if you do not do either or both of these, you are missing out. I have seen several people do amazing things with more exposure online.

Some outsourced work tasks are researching posts online and setting up to post in a Social Media scheduler. It can also be that you want to do PPC advertising (creating ads setting up audiences, and monitoring the results) on Google, Facebook, or Pinterest, among others, but do not want to learn what to do and what not to do.

Accounts Receivable Tasks

Now it is time to check out your accounts receivable tasks. Do you hate doing invoicing or collections? Having someone help you with these tasks can also take the weight off your shoulders. Below is a post I wrote about the things you need to know about accounts receivable. Remember: sometimes, invoicing can be outsourced by someone who knows the industry and can do things remotely like invoice clients (Affiliate Link) through QuickBooks Online and email invoices. Otherwise, it will make more sense to have a person come to the office and do the invoices if it involves many mailings.

Website Updates and Blog Posting/SEO post setup

Blogging really does help your small business rank well on search engines. However, if you do not do it regularly enough, search engines may not be checking your website frequently to see the changes. This process does not only involve writing the post but also making sure your SEO (Affiliate Link) text is in place and that you are picking the right keyword for your blog topic. This process does take time to do and may be frustrating or overwhelming for you to do during a workweek. Below I shared a post about all the tasks that need to be done when doing a blog post. Feel free to check it out. Do you do them all?

Feedback to Help Get Inspired

And the last area that you can outsource is to get inspired. Did you know that just talking to someone about your goals and ideas for a new venture can really help you get a clear picture of what you want to do next and what the steps will be? Well, it will! I offer to consult services that do just that. Having someone you talk to that is your advocate will give you the confidence to take action and move toward your goal.

This person can also be the one you give research projects to and to bring together the information you need to take the next steps toward your goal. So, you do not have to spend as much time doing it yourself.

Now that you have some ideas of what you want to outsource, you need to find the right person for you.

Tips to Find the Right Person so you can Outsource the Work for Your Small Business Tasks

Ensure they have the experience and background to help in the area you need. Some people have some experience in certain segments of an area. Make sure those areas are exactly what you want.

Ask around to other self-employed friends to see if they use someone they can recommend. Word of mouth is the best form of flattery.

When you find someone, ask for referrals and contact the referrals to make sure the expert can do what you want them to do. If you do not know the person or who their clients (Affiliate Link) are, it is good to get testimonials from their clients (Affiliate Link).

Make a list of the tasks you want the expert to do. Creating a responsibilities list is important to agree on what tasks and projects are their responsibility. Creating this before you begin will make it clear for both of you. You can always modify it later.

Decide how much you can spend per hour.

Determine how much you need to make per hour and make sure the person hiredcharges less than your hourly rate. You do not want to spend outsourcing a task more than you are making. That is a surefire way to go bankrupt.

Make sure this person is organized and can manage their time effectively! Just because they can do the work doesn’t mean that if you stop working with them, you will be able to figure out what needs to be done and how to do it. Check out their office, and ask them questions like, how will you keep my paperwork? What is your system to manage my business tasks?
