When most people think of Amazon jobs, they often think of Amazon warehouse work and delivery services. But did you know that Amazon also offers work-from-home jobs that most people even don’t know about?
The giant e-commerce has over 1.6 million employees worldwide in 2021, a 23.88% increase from 2020. It seems that nothing can stop Amazon from growing.
Some of Amazon’s work-from-home or side hustle jobs are well-known, while others might surprise you. They range from doing small simple tasks to full-time positions, there’s something for everybody.

Amazon Work From Home Jobs
1. Amazon Customer Service
Amazon’s work-from-home customer service positions are usually available around the holidays and get filled quickly. Even though it’s a work-from-home position, Amazon only hires remote agents in certain states or countries.
You will need at least a high school diploma, one year of customer service experience, basic computer skills, and high-speed internet to apply.
You’ll earn $16-$20 an hour working between 20 to 30 hours a week. There is also a possibility of becoming a permanent employee with great benefits if you meet your metrics.
Hiring usually starts at the end of August for the busy holiday season (Oct – Jan). You can find Amazon’s remote jobs on their virtual job page.
2. Work for Amazon MTurk
Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk)
is an online marketplace where businesses and developers can outsource their small tasks to individuals like you. You can use MTurk to make extra money in your spare time by completing simple tasks online.
These small tasks can be anything from transcribing audio, writing articles, evaluating images/video, take surveys, or removing duplicate content from business listings.
MTurk features thousands of available tasks daily and you can choose the tasks you want to do that fit your skills and interests.
The money you make depends on the tasks, with most tasks paying less than $10. You won’t get paid a lot of money doing these tasks, but it also doesn’t require a lot of time and commitment from you either.
3. Start Amazon FBA
Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is the most well-known and lucrative way to make money on Amazon.
FBA provides a way for sellers to use Amazon’s delivery and fulfillment services for their products. You store your products at Amazon’s warehouse and Amazon will do all the labeling and shipping for you.
A lot of people start out by going to liquidation stores to buy products for cheap and resell them on Amazon. That’s what my friend did when he started out in 2008. Today, his business brings in $2 million revenue yearly and he makes multiple trips to China a year to order products.
Choosing the right products to sell on Amazon is very important. Picking the right products is probably the hardest part of the whole process.
You don’t want to pick something too low that you end up with no profit or too high that nobody buys. The good resell value is around $15 to $20. Amazon also a “trending” section to show popular products that people are searching on Amazon.
4. Merch by Amazon
Merch by Amazon is a way for you to sell your designs as Amazon products. You can have your artwork and logos printed on merchandise such as coffee mugs, t-shirts, hats, hoodies, and many more.
After you fill out your application and get approved, you upload your artwork, select product type and color, write a description, and wait for someone to make a purchase. Amazon Merch will take care of production, shipping, and service and you will earn a royalty for every product that is sold (typically 10-20% depending on the item).
Due to its popularity, Merch only accepts new artists by invitation. To be considered, request for an invitation and wait to get invited.
Easy enough right? I love that you only have to do the work once and forget about it.
5. Amazon Handmade
Similar to Etsy, you can sell your own goods on Amazon Handmade. Amazon Handmade has artisans from over 80 countries who sell their unique crafts to millions of customers all around the world.
You can set your own prices and there are no listing fees. During registration, you will register with a Professional Selling Plan, but the $39.99 Professional Selling Plan monthly fee is waived for Handmade artisans. However, Handmade will deduct a 15% referral fee for every product sold.
6. Join Amazon Associates
When you join Amazon Associates, you become an affiliate and earn a percentage of sales from products you promote on your blog, Instagram, YouTube, any social media platform.
One of the great things about Amazon Associate program is that customers don’t need to purchase the specific product they clicked on for you to earn a percentage. You can earn a percentage for any products they buy as long as it’s within 24 hours from when they click on your link.
To get started with Amazon Associates, you need to fill out an application and provide links to your website or your social mediate channels. You will automatically get “accepted”, but the Associate teams will check your application once you’ve made 3 qualified sales within the first 180 days.
If you’re not able to make 3 sales within the first 180 days, your application will get rejected. But don’t worry, you can reapply and the application process is fairly painless.
7. Amazon Influencer Program
If you have a decent-sized social media following on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Youtube, then you can apply to be part of the Amazon Influencer Program.
Similar to Amazon Associates where you make a commission when someone makes a purchase through your affiliate link, but the main promotion channels are social media.
Also, you’ll get your own customizable page on Amazon and a vanity URL to showcase your favorite Amazon products to your followers. This makes it easy to send all your followers to one place to find all of your favorite products.
8. Sell Private Label Items on Amazon
Selling private label items is a rather unique way to make money on Amazon. It involves finding generic products that are already selling well on Amazon and can be sourced cheaply through bulk suppliers such as Alibaba.
The next step is to create your own logo, packaging, and market the products better than your competition.
This requires a bit of market research, but once you get the hang of it, it can be a very profitable way to make money on Amazon. Returns vary by product, but aim for a profit margin of around 50%.
9. Make Money Publishing eBooks on Amazon
With Kindle Direct Publishing, you can publish your own eBooks and paperbacks for free on Amazon.
It takes less than 5 minutes to publish your book and it will appear on Kindle stores worldwide within 24-48 hours. It’s a free way to expose your books to millions of readers.
As a Kindle publisher, you’ll earn up to 70% royalties along with having the advantage of setting your own prices. Also, you get to keep the rights to your books.
The best part about this is once you create a book, it will continue to sell on Amazon without any effort on your part.
10. Amazon Trade-In Program
The Amazon Trade-In is a way for you to earn Amazon gift cards in exchange for pre-owned items that you no longer want such as Amazon Devices, books, electronics, video games, and more.
Amazon provides a list of items that are eligible for trade-in. After you find your item on the list, submit a trade-in form, get a quote, print the free shipping label and send the item to Amazon. Once your item is received and appraised, you’ll receive an e-mail notification informing you whether your item was accepted or rejected.
If the item is rejected, they will return it to you at no charge. If the item is accepted, you will see the amount when viewing your gift card balance.
11. Amazon Flex Deliveries
Amazon Flex is not a work-at-home job, but because it provides flexible scheduling that I want to include it here.
You are paid $18 – $25 per hour to deliver packages using your own vehicle. You choose your own block of hours to work, then pick up packages from a local Amazon Fulfillment Center or area business and fulfill the deliveries.
To qualify, you need to be at least 21 years old, valid driver’s license and insurance, and a smartphone to download the Amazon Flex app.
