Despite being regarded as the social media capital of the world, the Philippines has the slowest internet speed in the entire Southeast Asian region and is ranked 158th out of 190 countries worldwide.
It reported the Philippines had the lowest average connection speed among surveyed Asia-Pacific countries at 4.5 Mbps. Others with internet speeds below 10 Mbps are India (5.6 Mbps), China (6.3 Mbps), Indonesia (6.7 Mbps), Sri Lanka (7.3 Mbps), Malaysia (8.2 Mbps), and Vietnam (8.3 Mbps).

Turkmenistan has the slowest broadband in the world with an average speed of just 0.50Mbps.
