Is ZT better than Benchmade?
Both produce excellent knives in the United States. Benchmade offers a broader range, with more favourably priced models. Zero Tolerance, however, produces knives with a slightly better finish.
Spyderco is in my opinion the superior quality knife. The company uses exacting requirements for their production lines, and the few anecdotal cases of a bad Spyderco knife are few and far between.
The Winner? Well, between Benchmade and Kershaw, I have to say that Benchmade comes out on top with its quality and customization. Their knives are simply beautiful and they last longer than the warranty does.
Hands down, my vote would be for SOG Knives. Even though the quality may not be as good as Benchmade, I've owned several and (for the money) they are a great value. They hold an excellent edge and definitely suit my needs.

Who designed the benchmade Bugout?
The blade on the Bugout is, indefinitely, the knife's reason for fame. In 2017, Benchmade somewhat quietly released the Bugout and it was a hit from day one. With a stock thickness of just 0.09”, and a length of 3.24”, the blade on the Bugout is well suited for cutting tasks galore.
The Benchmade 940 is one of the best pocket knives available, and is very well suited for EDC and everyday usage. Mine has been through muck and grime, sand and snow, and even for a dip in the ocean, and it has held out through thick and thin. It is not perfect, of course, but it is darned near close to perfect.
As an EDC knife, the Bugout is ideal for those gentlemen's knife scenarios. Your knives should only need to be sharpened every few months depending on how often they are used – I would also recommend having your knives professionally sharpened every 1-2 years.
Disassembly by anyone other than the Benchmade Knife Company, Inc. Warranty/Repair Department will void the warranty! Minimum charge to reassemble your knife is $20.00 plus parts. Most of all please enjoy your new knife and always remember to use it in a safe, responsible manner.
