Commander. Despite not being a casual DCI Sanctioned format, Commander is the most popular format in Magic: The Gathering. In Commander, players must build a 100-card deck that consists of 99 unique cards (excluding basic lands) and one Commander, which must be a Legendary creature.
These days, Historic Brawl is the vastly more popular version of the format, thanks to it being the closest thing Arena has to Commander.
As the only official singleton format, Commander is a great jumping-off point for new Magic players and those returning to the game. By philosophy, Commander is casual. This makes Commander easier to approach than other constructed formats, which are often highly competitive.
Tournaments are played using either a modified Swiss structure or a single-elimination structure. In both cases, rounds are 50-70 minutes long and are played best two games out of three. The Swiss structure awards 3 points for a win, 0 points for a loss, and 1 point for a draw.

Why is MTG so popular in Japan?

1v1 Commander, not to be confused with Duel Commander, is a Magic Online format. On May 10, 2017, Magic Online launched tournament play for 1v1 Commander consisting of two-player queues and a Friendly Constructed League, and created a separate ban list for Magic Online Commander.

Can a Commander be exiled?
If you're casting your commander from the command zone for an alternative cost or "without paying its mana cost," the commander tax applies in addition to that cost. If your commander would be exiled or put into your hand, graveyard, or library from anywhere, you may choose to put it into the command zone instead.
There's no one solution, generally you'll want somewhere between a third and half of your deck to make mana, and most of that will likely be from land.
MTG Commander deck building ratio
As a general rule of thumb, you want somewhere between 33 and 42 lands in a Commander deck. Naturally, you want as many special lands as you can find. Lands that generate more than one colour of mana or that have special abilities are always a great shout.

Is Modern Ever Coming to MTG Arena? Sadly, you can't play Modern on MTG Arena right now. WotC has been very forthcoming with their plans for Arena and while adding all of Pioneer's sets to the platform is on their roadmap, they haven't announced any plans to do this with Modern sets yet.
