What is meant by KSE 100 index?
The KSE 100 Index is designed to measure the performance of 100 companies which comprises the sector largest market capitalization companies and highest market capitalization companies (other than sector largest market capitalization companies).
The KSE-100 Index was introduced in November 1991 with base value of 1,000 points. The Index comprises of 100 companies selected on the basis of sector representation and highest Free-Float Capitalisation, which captures around 80% of the total Free-Float Capitalisation of the companies listed on the Exchange.
Simply put, the KSE-100 and KSE All-Shares indices are not 'dividend adjusted'. On the other hand, in the KSE-30 index, the index is adjusted for dividends and right shares. The analyst has written a detailed report on the index.
