WAIMANALO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - That's a wrap! The iconic Magnum P.I. residence known as the 'Robin's Nest' was demolished over the weekend. The 8,900-square-foot Waimanalo mansion was torn down after a demolition permit was issued for the property last month.
There is no mansion like this on the grounds of Kualoa Ranch; as you can see, the house doesn't exist, it was completely generated by CGI. What is this? The aerial establishing shot of Robin's Estate, which appears in almost every episode, is situating the fictional house at Kualoa Regional Park.
The estate was purchased by Marty Nesbitt in 2015 for $8.7 million. The City & County of Honolulu Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) issued a demolition permit last week.
It was torn down as a result of disrepair in 2018. Three homes are in construction at present on the beachfront compound, which includes two swimming pools and a security fence. The property sits nestled nearby the Koolau Mountains with a spectacular view of Waimanalo Bay.
It is located at 41-505 Kalanianaole Hwy, Waimanalo, HI 96795, and was owned for many years by the Eve G Anderson Trust.
In 2014, the estate was listed for sale for $15,750,000. It sold in March 2015 for $8.7 million. It's now held in an LLC registered by Marty Nesbitt of Chicago, the CEO and founder of The Parking Spot and a close friend of former President Barack Obama.
A beach bar was opened as the location for 'Rick's Bar' in the TV series Magnum P.I. The bar is now The Kahala O Ke Kai, a beautiful oceanfront function room.
