Is Khan Academy SAT prep free?
With Khan Academy's free SAT prep program, students who can't afford books or prep programs can now prep for free. This in itself is a great step forward—don't get me wrong.
Do they map to the mastery levels in regular Khan Academy math? A: The skill levels are different than the regular Khan Academy math mastery system levels. For SAT, higher levels contain harder questions. You will also move up or down through the levels depending on how many questions you answer correctly.
No. At least not in a rigorous way. Khan Academy will show you how to solve most problems in Calculus, but won't really give you any intuition behind all the math behind it.
The Official SAT Practice test prep doesn't currently provide a dynamic estimated SAT score prediction. Your scores on your practice tests, if taken under test conditions (e.g. all in one sitting, with only the short official breaks), will provide the best estimate we have for you.
The Khan Academy SAT tests are pretty close to the actual test, in my experience. I'd say that if done properly, you won't get a difference of more than 20-30 points between the practice tests and the real one. I managed a consistent 1590–1600 score in the practice tests, and ended up with 1570 in the actual SAT.

Since then, The College Board has released Practice Tests 5-8 on Khan Academy. Because the Khan Academy tests are actually released by The College Board, they are generally regarded as official and accurate material.
Because they offer a study plan and recommendations for what you should be working on, Khan Academy's resources are best for students who aren't sure how to begin their SAT prep or don't know which areas they need to focus on.
Studying for the SAT in a month is possible, though it's recommended that you spend 10 to 20 hours per week over the course of two or three months prepping for the SAT.
We recommend you spend 6–20 hours preparing for your first SAT. Make sure you reserve enough time to take at least one full-length practice test (about 4 hours if you practice the essay as well), and give yourself time to review the concepts you're struggling with.
