Is Thor: Love and Thunder 4DX good?
Normally, we like to advise 4DX for second viewing of films but if even if you haven't yet seen the latest entry into Marvel Cinematic Universe, we still think it's an absolutely fantastic way to enjoy this story.
It has motion, water, air, odour, light sensors which makes you experience what is going in the movie.... there are some you tube videos which shows 4DX experience. I think it is must try at the price which PVR is offering (approx 400-450)...experience is awesome.
If you are gonna see any film in 4DX, this is the one. It's completely outstanding in this format because the film is made flawlessly to adapt to what 4DX entails. And especially, are they using lasers for 3D (like in IMAX) or normal projectors (which severely lack brightness, which is cut in half by 3D glasses)?
IMAX will be the perfect option if you want to relax and enjoy your movie without physical effects. In contrast, if you want to have a movie-watching experience that is more interactive and immersive, with motion seats and special effects, then 4DX will be the perfect option.
4DX is a state-of-the-art film technology developed by CJ 4DPLEX which delivers an immersive multi-sensory cinematic experience. 4DX incorporates on-screen visuals with synchronized motion seats and environmental effects such as water, wind, fog, scent, snow and more, to enhance the action on screen.
There is more strobing in the 4DX than I noticed in MX4D leading me to believe that MX4D doesn't have any. There is minimal scent in 4DX, and I only noticed it when we see Tony Stark at his cabin by the lake. I could hear something being blown/sprayed, but it was a minute or two before I could smell the pine scent.
Most viewers tend to lean back in their seats. 4DX, however, is incredibly disorienting if you sit that way — you feel at the mercy of the chair, which can go side to side, up and down, and forward and backward. Eventually, we discovered that it was best to sit up straight and almost lean forward a little bit.
Some of the effects are better than others – you feel like you're falling into the frame whenever the seats tilt forward in conjunction with the camera – but the sensation is not so extreme that it distracts you from the movie (I had no trouble following the mind-bending logic of Doctor Strange).
Do you have to wear 3D glasses for a 4DX film screening? The 4DX experience takes place in a special auditorium at the Kinepolis cinema: thanks to its hinged seats and adapted environment, it plunges the viewers into the universe of the film. However, if the film is not presented in 3D, you don't need to wear glasses.
4DX films will not necessarily be presented in 3D. If the particular film is also presented with 3D, glasses will be required. 3D glasses are available to purchase in cinema for an additional $1.00, and are yours to keep and reuse on future visits.
What precautions should you take during 4DX movie?
Do not eat or drink during intense scenes when the motion chairs will be most active. Do not wear delicate clothing or any articles that may be adversely affected by the 4DX effects, and take measures to protect clothing against wind, rain-like conditions, bubbles, and strong scents.
IMAX and RPX
For those looking for a more larger-than-life way to experience a superhero flick, IMAX is probably your best bet.
Due to motion effects used in the 4D Chocolate Adventure pre-show and cinema, it is not suitable for pregnant women or guests with heart or spinal conditions. There are however static (non-moving) chairs available which you can use.

4DX equipped auditoriums employ motion enabled chairs, which create strong vibrations and sensations, as well as other environmental controls for simulated weather or other conditions, such as lightning, rain, flashing (strobe) lights, fog and strong scents.
This film is meant to be seen on the biggest screen possible. However, if one wants to increase the amazingness of the film, 4DX is the way to go. Every time the characters are in the planes, the seats are moving around as if one is really in the plane with them. It really adds to the suspense of the dog fights.
4DX Screen (formerly "4DX with ScreenX") is the combination of the ScreenX and 4DX film formats which allows moviegoers to experience films in the multi-screen auditorium with enhanced motion and environmental effects, with an additional fourth-screen projected on the ceiling and the newest 4DX chair models.
4DX offers not only the advanced motion seating along with wind, mist, fog, lighting, and even smell effects but also a unique benefit for horror films. These things can enhance the jump moments and give more of the roller coaster thrills. 4DX can make scary movies even scarier!

It's a sign of how much movie fans seem to be enjoying immersive experiences as the pandemic starts to recede. The first four months of 2023's box office for the company's 4DX and ScreenX theaters is tracking 36% higher than pre-pandemic levels (2019), and generating over $150 million through May 1.
4DX is often mistaken for or compared to IMAX 3D. However, both are vastly different standards. IMAX screens have more to do with the picture quality and the sound, whereas 4DX is more about the seats and practical effects. 4DX cinemas can screen both 2D and 3D movies.

At times it's a bit like being on a rollercoaster so I wouldn't recommend buying popcorn unless you fancy wearing it. Or if you do, make sure you eat enough before the film starts so it doesn't fly out the bag and end up all over the floor which was a mistake many people around me made.
Difference Between 3D and 4Dx
In addition to the 3D image, there are also other elements like water, wind, smoke, smells and much more involved in the experience of watching a 4D movie. The most attractive difference for a 4DX movie is that you essentially get to live in the movie.
Avatar: The Way of Water is probably the most 4DX movie ever made. The immersive format is not the optimal way to see this sequel, but having experienced the physical effects of the medium, we can say it is incredibly fun.
Without 3D glasses, you won't be able to see the 3D effects of the movie. The images will appear blurry and distorted.
The IMAX scenes do look fantastic with the picture quality crisp and clear, opening up the screen to the 1.90:1 ratio is seamlessly done and for me, the moments that were chosen to be shot in IMAX (EAR) are perfectly chosen.
IMAX and RPX

Dolby wins on color saturation, bass imaging/tightness (a much larger IMAX auditorium can never match this refinement), overall HDR, and shadow detail -- it's usual strengths.
Is Thor: Love and Thunder better in IMAX?
Thor Love and Thunder comes alive in IMAX and fully immerses you into its wackiness. It's a bit all over the place and I can see why it's divided Marvel fans but IMAX glosses over some of the structural flaws and focuses on the visuals and audio.
The consensus seems to be that seeing the movie in 3D doesn't take away from the story, and in many cases, it does enhance the action-packed film. That doesn't mean you have to see Thor: Ragnarok in 3D, but it does mean if you decide to, there's an excellent chance that you'll think it was worth it.
Dolby theaters are also usually newer, so chances are it will be better maintained. But both Dolby and IMAX have better quality control over the sound and image than a standard theater. Dolby does offer a crisper, brighter image with deeper blacks than IMAX. But both IMAX with laser and Dolby look great.
While films shown in IMAX theaters do provide a more immersive experience with a variety of digital projectors, Dolby Cinema has a sharper image, better colors, and deeper blacks. It's clearly the best overall in this category.
The most powerful Thor variant is Ultimate Thor, who's real name is Thorlief Golmen. Golmen discovers he is the most recent reincarnation of Thor Odinson and begins his journey as the new God of Thunder. This version of Thor was less reliant on Mjolnir as a power source.
Dolby Cinema offers better image resolution, image quality, image depth, color resolution, color depth, and contrast. It also provides better sound quality and sound design options than Standard cinemas. Dolby Cinema's state-of-the-art hardware allows the cinema to project higher-quality video on every metric.
Cost. IMAX offers adult movie tickets for about an average of $20, so that's just $5 more than the regular tickets for a considerably enhanced experience. Dolby Cinema tickets will usually range between $20-$25. So they are slightly pricier.
The aim of IMAX is immersion: they aim to fill your vision, including peripheral vision with picture and create an immersive experience. 4k is just a resolution of the traditional cinema wide-screen picture. 4k is adequate for big screen presentation, although 8k would be better.
First, 3D glasses are necessary only for IMAX 3D movies. There are non-3D IMAX movies too, and they don't require any special glasses. Both are “IMAX experiences”, but only one is 3D.
As shown in the film's second trailer, Russell Crowe's Zeus accidentally disrobes Thor, leaving the God of Thunder standing fully naked in front of an entire arena. However, in the trailer, Hemsworth's super-jacked cheeks are blurred out.

However, despite its definite issues, the highs of Thor: Love and Thunder make it easily the best of the three 2022 MCU films and even a standout among Phase Four as a whole.
1 The Winner: Ragnarok
This is especially true for those who want to see Thor assume yet another role (that of a father) in his complicated but still fun life. Fans of fantastic movie villains, excellent fight scenes, and well-written romances should also come away satisfied, as Love and Thunder has all three.
