Is it safe to link your bank account to wealth simple?
Your bank login credentials are never stored with us. Using the same encryption as your bank, your transactional and personal data is securely encrypted with both hardware and software encryption.
To make a deposit, you need to link a bank account to your Wealthsimple profile. If your deposit is pending for more than five business days, there may be an issue linking your bank account.

People re-use passwords, so these breaches are getting more and more common, because people's credentials are being stolen from one site and used to access others.

In the extremely unlikely event that Wealthsimple were to go out of business, your account would remain safe and be largely unaffected.
A Save account is a good choice when you need to access your funds quickly. People often use it to save for a near-term purchase, or to build an emergency fund. A Save account is a non-registered account, so you'll need to report the interest you earn each year in your tax filing.

How long does it take to withdraw money from Wealthsimple?
In order to make a withdrawal from any Wealthsimple account, the funds will have to have been in your account for a minimum of five business days. Timelines for withdrawals will depend on the account that you're withdrawing from. Withdrawals typically take 1–7 business days to complete.

What is Wealthsimple Cash? With the Wealthsimple Cash app, you can spend and earn better interest rates on your deposits. It's a hybrid account: it earns high-interest but it is also a chequing account that lets you access your money any time.
It typically takes 1–4 weeks to transfer an existing investment account to Wealthsimple. In rare cases, a transfer may take up to 6–8 weeks if your institution rejects the initial transfer request.
- Sign in to the Cash app on your mobile device.
- Tap your Wallet balance in the left-hand corner of the screen.
- Select Add.
- Select the bank account that you wish to deposit funds from and tap Continue.
- Choose an amount to deposit into your account and tap Continue.
- Tap Confirm to submit the deposit.
- Log into my.wealthsimple.com and sign in to your Managed Investing & Save profile.
- Click on Activity from the top menu bar.
- Select Cancel next to the auto-deposit.
- Review and click Yes, cancel deposit.
- Log into your Cash mobile app.
- Select the Wallet balance at the top left-hand corner.
- Tap the Gear icon in the top left-hand corner.
- Select the Profile menu item.
- Tap Verification.
- Follow the prompts on-screen to verify your identity.
