As previously reported by Cointelegraph, Nas is an early Coinbase believer, investing in the company through his venture capital firm QueensBridge Venture Partners. The rapper reportedly joined Coinbase's $25 million Series B round in 2013, buying between 99,000 and 496,000 shares at a price of $1.00676 per share.
Like previous years, JAY-Z took the number one spot, netting $76 million, followed by Diddy, who took home $64 million. (This is according to Forbes' reporting, which has been disputed by some rappers in the past.) However, there was a new name on the list: legendary rapper Nas. who took home $35 million.
According to his blog on NasAcademy.com, Nas Daily makes $400,000 to $500,000 every month. Around $100,000 of that figure is from ad revenue on YouTube and Facebook. Nas Studios charges anywhere between $10,000 to $70,000 per video production project.
For Nas, the two songs will be released as tiered NFTs: for example, $50 gets you a gold NFT of 'Ultra Black' with a 0.0143% share of its streaming royalties, but if you shell out $4,999 for a diamond NFT, you'll get 2.14% of its royalties. Both drops will be limited editions: 760 and 1,110 tokens respectively.
