Google Fiber installers laid fiber using "shallow trenching" in Louisville. The Google Fiber team cited the experimental construction methods used in Louisville as the reason behind the failure. The box is roughly 6-7 inches tall by 7-8 inches wide, and 2 inches deep. If there are utility poles where you live, they'll usually follow the existing electrical drop path and bring fiber from the pole to the box.

The Google Fiber Network Box is connected by Ethernet cable directly to your Fiber Jack. Its dimensions are 7.5" W x 7.5" D x 1.6" H. When it is properly connected, the LED on the front of the Google Fiber Network Box lights up solid blue.

Google Fiber gives you the speed and reliability that you can get only with fiber-to-the-home service. Spectrum has much wider availability, offers decent speeds, and has cheaper options. But if you opt for a gigabit connection, Google Fiber is actually the more affordable option.
The company said Google Fiber TV services will end in Austin and Atlanta by Nov. 30.
