Do you prefer living in a house or a flat ielts speaking?
Do you prefer living in a house or a flat? To me, living in a house would be much better, because, you know, I need my own space, so that I can concentrate on my work. Besides, I can change the size and design of the house in anyway I like. I can't do that if I live in a flat.
Part-one questions in the IELTS Speaking test often include questions like, “Do you live in a house or an apartment?” or “Do you live in a house or a flat?” Remember that in the US, they say, 'apartment' and in the UK we say, 'flat. ' Both are good English for IELTS.

The main difference between buying a house and buying a flat is that when buying a house, you will normally purchase the Freehold, which means you own the land and the buildings on the land for an unlimited time.
Low cost
As an apartment tends to be a lot smaller than a house, less money is required for gas and electricity to heat the area. Apartments are also built compactly, meaning that you can save money on heating your apartment during the colder months, whilst any newer builds also tend to be more energy efficient.
Flat vs House: Additional Facilities
A flat comes with additional services such as water, electricity, and security. Although they come at an additional cost of 2-5 per cent of the purchase price, we can't deny how convenient it is to have it taken care of right away when we move in.
Why do people prefer flat?
A flat does not demands added payments for fixing any glitches, unlike houses. Maintenance of a flat is much easier than that of a house. Nothing like houses, flats offer several amenities like pools, 24 hours security, gym, laundry service and much more.
