A campfire is a block that can be used to cook food, pacify bees, act as a spread-proof light source, smoke signal or damaging trap block.

Players will be delighted to know they can use campfires to collect the honey peacefully. When a player places a campfire two blocks under a beehive the smoke will allow the player to collect honey bottles and honeycomb without worrying about bee attacks.
A campfire can be within five blocks underneath the hive, if nothing blocks the smoke. This "smokes" the hive, so that harvesting does not aggravate the bees. However, a campfire (let alone a fire block) also damages mobs that touch it, and bees are no exception.
Soul campfires repel any Piglins in the nearby area due to its bright blue light. This can be very useful in certain areas in the Nether, such as the Bastion Remnants. Since soul campfires look objectively great, they can be used as decoration for bold builders.
The smoke will put the bees into “chill” mode, which essentially means that they won't fly away from their home ever again. Use this handy tool to return all the bees to their home nest, so you don't forget any of them.
If a player were to walk on a regular campfire, they would take 1 damage; if they walk on a soul campfire, they would take 2 damage. This is negated if they are sneaking or wearing Frost Walker Boots. This is also the same if the player has Fire Resistance.
Like cacti, lava and fire, any dropped item in the center of a campfire would be deleted instantly. This would not interfere with the cooking mechanic as food already pops off away from the fire.
Do not worry, it will not burn and pops right out when the food is ready. After about 30 seconds, the food will be cooked and will pop out of the campfire. You can also use a campfire to smoke out beehives and collect honey without aggroing the bees inside.
Harvesting from a beehive or bee nest causes any bees inside it to become aggravated toward the player, unless there is a fire directly beneath it or a lit campfire within five blocks below, and the smoke is not obstructed.
There is no current way of stopping mobs from spawning that doesn't envolve lightning an area. Some of your builds can be ruined if you want to make them spawnproof by placing lots of light sources.
Do soul campfires cook faster?
Soul Campfires cook food 2 times faster than a normal Campfire.
Soul torches also emit a lower light level than normal torches (12). Unlike normal torches, soul torches will not melt snow and ice.
Minecraft features a total of three worlds that are interconnected. So, at times, a Bee can accidentally traverse into the Ender and Nether if you have opened up a portal nearby or are near a stronghold. This can cause the Bee to either disappear in those realms or just plainly perish.
Beehives are placeable almost anywhere in the overworld and can store up to three bees.
Bees despawn. they are enclosed and so have not wandered off. the bees were a mix of bees spawned on tree growth and bees that were bred from those. They did not disappear when logging off/on, so I think it was due to distance of >128 blocks from player.
Despite the light a campfire gives off, mobs should be limited to a 16-32 block distance for spawning. Whichever is best. As is in real life, wild animals do not(except for rare circ*mstances) come near campfires... which makes the act of building a campfire at night a safe thing to do.
Fire, soul fire, both campfires, and magma blocks all deal the same amount of damage to mobs/players.

A Soul Torch is a variant that emits a lower light level, so they don't melt ice or snow. They give off a nice calming blue light, and like the campfire, they repel Piglins, too That's always useful if you just want some alone time. Crafting one is nice and easy.
The piglin brutes aren't afraid of the stuff that normal piglins do, such as soul fire, soul torches, soul campfires, zoglins and zombified piglins.
Do soul torches melt snow?

Soul Fire doesn't burn down wood, unlike regular fire. Soul Fire will scare away Piglins, unlike regular fire.
