Refurbished is a system that was traded in and was not in a resellable condition and was sent to gamestop's warehouse. The warehouse has certified technicians repair the system. Preowned is a system that was traded in and is in sellable condition. As far as which system to buy refurbish or preowned it doesn't matter.
