Sometimes, USCIS might be able to approve your I-130 without the need for an interview. If you are a U.S. citizen and you are filing for your parents, or unmarried children under the age of 21 who are in the United States and have filed Form I-485, then you might not need an interview.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) does not send an interview notice for the I-130. So, if you file I-130 and I-485 together, that's your marriage-based petition for an alien relative and application for adjustment of status.

The Biden administration's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) updated its Policy Manual Thursday to allow immigration officers to waive removal of conditions interviews for some family-based immigrants with conditional green cards.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have observed USCIS waive some green card interviews. It appears that USCIS is approving more green card applications without an interview. That is a great development indeed.
That can often take six to eight weeks after approval of the I-130, and possibly even longer. When NVC receives your case, it will send you a notification, typically via email. If you're a "preference relative" (on a waiting list), that delay won't affect you much.
