How do I transfer money via InstaPay

Using the new BPI App:

1. Log in to the new BPI app and tap "Transfer" from the bottom menu.

2. Tap "To another BPI account" and select the source account in "Transfer from".

3. Select the bank you want to send money to and choose between InstaPay or PESONet, or scan/upload the recipient's QR code.

4. Enter the amount you want to send and tap "Continue".

5. Enter your Mobile Key or authenticate via biometrics.

You're done! Enjoy zero fees for transfers under Php 1,000 via Instapay until September 30, 2023.

Using the old BPI mobile app and/or via BPI web browser:

This requires having Mobile Key active on the older BPI Mobile app.

If you have already activated Mobile Key on the new BPI app, we recommend transacting there instead.

1. Login to the BPI web browser and BPI app

2. Select “Transfer Money” from the menu selection.

3. Select “Transfer to another bank”.

4. Select the bank you want to send money to and fill in the details.

5. Choose whether to:

  • Enter the recipient's account number
  • Upload/scan the recipient's QR code**
  • Enter the recipient's registered mobile number***
  • Enter the recipient's registered email address***

6. Confirm the details of your transaction.

7. Use your Mobile Key PIN or smartphone’s biometrics to approve.

**See the list of participating banks and financial institutions that allow InstaPay transfers via QR code. You may also visit the BSP website to get regular updates on the participating institutions.

*** Available to Chinabank, Metrobank, RCBC, and Unionbank only.

Note: A transfer fee of Php 25 per transaction will also be deducted from your account.

How do I create and customize my QR Code

Using the new BPI App:

1. Log in to the new BPI app.

2. Tap "More" from the menu and Select "General Settings".

3. Tap on "QR Generator"

4. Select an account to generate your QR code.

5. Create a nickname for your QR Code. (Maximum of 10 alphanumeric characters)

6. Enter an amount (optional).

7. Tap "Generate"

8. Tap "Save to device"

You’re done!

You may now start using your QR code to receive money instead of giving out your account number.

This requires having Mobile Key active on the older BPI Mobile app.

If you have already activated Mobile Key on the new BPI app, we recommend transacting there instead.

1. Login to BPI Online or the old BPI Mobile app.

2. Select “Other Services” from the menu.

3. Select “QR Generator".

4. Select account to generate QR code.

5. Create a nickname for your QR Code. QR nicknames can have a maximum of 10 alphanumeric characters.

6. Enter the amount (optional).

7. Select “Save to Device.”

And you’re done!

You may now start using your QR code to receive money instead of giving your account number.

How do I link a mobile number or email address to my BPI Online account

Using the new BPI App:

1. Log in to the new BPI app.

2. Tap "More" from the menu and Select "General Settings".

3. Tap on "Link a mobile number or email address"

4. Tap "Link email address" or "Link mobile number"

5. Select your account where you want to link your email or mobile number to.

6. Review the details and tap "Confirm".

7. Input your One-Time-PIN.

You’re done!

You may now start using your email address or mobile number to receive money instead of giving out your account number.

Using the old BPI mobile app and/or via BPI web browser:

This requires having Mobile Key active on the older BPI Mobile app.

If you have already activated Mobile Key on the new BPI app, we recommend transacting there instead.

1. Login to BPI Online or the BPI Mobile app.

2. Go to menu and select “Other Services”.

3. Under transactions, select “Link a Mobile Number or Email”.

4. Select a deposit account to register and nominate its nickname.

5. Choose whether to link* your registered mobile number or email address to your account.

6. Check details. Tap on “Confirm”.

7. Enter your One-Time PIN (OTP), then select “Submit”.

*You can only link (1) BPI account to your email address and another BPI account to your mobile number.
