WWE Calling: 10 NBA Players Who Could Have a Second Career In Body Building
0 of 11
I'm back again, folks, and this time I decided to make somewhat of a short and "just for fun" article for the readers.
As we're now fully fledged into the NBA season, most topics have become very serious, so I decided to spread a little fun around with this topic.
So as you can tell, we're going to examine the 10 most physically well-built players in the NBA. So without further ado, lets get started.....
10. Kevin Durant
1 of 11
Just Kidding.
10. Dwyane Wade
2 of 11
Yeah, you didn't think Dwyane Wade would be on this list did you?
Wade seems like he's got a relatively average NBA body at 6'4 (actually pretty short for SGs) and 220 pounds. But, Wade belongs on this list.
He's got a bulky body which allows him to power his way to the basket, where Wade does most of his damage. His physique also allows Wade to swiftly move on the court, as he is one of the quickest players in the NBA with the ball.
He may be a little short but his body allows him to play against and even guard the most dominating players in the league.
9. Carlos Boozer
3 of 11
Boozer doesn't get nearly enough credit for being one of the most in-shape players in the league. Largely due to his undersized stature for his position, as Boozer is a 6'8 power forward.
Even with this disadvantage, Boozer has worked hard to build and carve out his body so that he could back down his larger opponents in the post and use his strength to get the shot off.
Boozer can pretty much dominate any PF in the league on the offensive end, as there might not be a more built low-post player. Boozer puts his body to good use and has carved out an excellent career in the league as a second-round draft pick.
Now if only, he could use that build to improve his defense....
8. Amar'e Stoudemire
4 of 11
Amare Stoudemire has one of the most perfect physiques for a player at his size and position.
At 6'10 and 240 pounds, Stoudemire is a handful for any player in the league.
He's actually very mobile due to the large majority of his body being muscle (he's got like 5 percent body fat). Stoudemire finishes his plays with ferocious dunks that intimidate his opponents.
His build allows him to back up and simply fly over his opponents for the finish, leaving the defender helpless.
Now Stoudemire should use his build to improve his play on the other end of the court in defense and rebounding.
7. Andre Iguodala
5 of 11
Iguodala is a player who tends to fly under the radar too much, but make no mistake about it, this guy can play. Oh and he's got a pretty well-built body as well.
Iguodala had a relatively average NBA body when coming into the league, but he's hit the weights and carved out a physique that may be one of the best in the NBA.
The Small Forward position has a ton of players with size, so Iguodala needed to make himself up to be able to survive at the position.
He's just somewhat of a lean body with bulging biceps, and has become one of the most versatile players in the league.
6. Ben Gordon
6 of 11
Ben Gordon may be one of the smallest players on the court at just 6'2, but in terms of bulk and physique, he may just the best.
Gordon combines a relatively small NBA body packed with muscles, which allows him to push-off and create space between him and his defender, in order for Gordon to get the shot off.
A 20+ point threat every night, Gordon puts his body to good use.
I don't think I've seen a bulkier player at his position. Gordon is just ripped.
5. Corey Maggette
7 of 11
Not many people give Corey Maggette too much credit as to being one of the biggest guys on the court in terms of physique.
But make no mistake about it, Maggette is a handful.
With "bowling ball"-like shoulders and biceps that could certainly tear some shirts, Maggette is one of the most well-built players in the league.
At about 6'6 and 225 (though he seems like 250), Maggette is all muscle.
He uses his gifts to constantly drive to the basket and sometimes finish, but more often than not, get to the foul line.
An unknown stat about Maggette: He is second in NBA history in terms of players who score most of their points at the foul line at 34 percent.
4. Ron Artest
8 of 11
Ron-Ron may be seem like a head-case for most people, but there's no denying that he works hard...on his body.
Ron Artest is one of the most physically well-built players in the NBA. With immensely broad shoulders and a supremely wide body, Ron-Ron gives even the best players in the league troubles when guarding them on a nightly basis.
Heralded as one of the best defenders in the league, Ron Artest is still a capable offensive player. His physique allows him to drive the lane and power over his match-ups and even sometimes over the opposing team's big man.
But Defensive is where Artest excels and the former Defensive Player of the Year can credit his build to being one of the main reasons as to why he strikes fear in the opponents he guards every game.
3. LeBron James
9 of 11
Every once in a blue moon, you will have one of those physically "out of this world" specimens of players.
Well LeBron James is that player for us.
At 6'9 and 250 pounds, There's no stopping James.
James is able to use his tank-like physique to drive the lane with ease and finish over his opponents. He powerful dunks, supreme moves and filthy finishes are all a result of his "one of a kind" build.
However, even with all that weight, James is usually one of the fastest players on the court, with or without the ball. Its unheard of for a player of that size to be able to move as fast and as quick as he does.
With the build of a power forward and the speed of a point guard, your not stopping that.
It's just not fair.
2. Ben Wallace
10 of 11
Just by looking at Ben Wallace, you should be intimidated.
Sure, Wallace may be getting up there in age, but the 4-time Defensive Player of the Year still strikes fear in the face of his opponents.
As just 6'9, Wallace isn't the tallest guy on the court, but on most nights, is usually the one with the best built.
Wallace has been reported to bench about 400 pounds. It wouldn't surprise me to know that he actually does.
There's a reason they still call him "BIG" Ben Wallace.
1. Dwight Howard
11 of 11
This should be no suprise, as Howard is the most physically cut and buff player in the NBA.
His body is better than most wrestlers and bodybuilders. He's about as jacked as they come in the NBA, with his mammoth shoulders, perfectly sculpted biceps and rock-hard abs.
Due to the nature of his body, Howard has been able to dominate the league since his entrance in 2004. He's become a two-time Defensive Player of the Year winner, as well as a three-time rebounding titlist, and 2-time blocks title winner.
He's patrols the paint for the Orlando Magic and strikes fear into his opponents. Offenses looking to drive in the paint have to think twice before they make a move on Howard.
They don't call him Superman for nothing. Howard is a man of steel.
