Wings’ Arike Ogunbowale and Mavericks’ Mark Cuban star in new State Farm commercial (2024)

“What if I was a different kind of baller?”

Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale posed this question to Jake from State Farm as he explained his company’s rates in their latest commercial.

The two-time All-Star has been making waves in popular culture recently. Her most recent endeavor was competing in the NBA Celebrity All-Star game, alongside her new teammate Diamond DeShields. As one of the biggest names in the WNBA, why would she be a different kind of baller?

Mavericks’ owner Mark Cuban helped in answering. A judge in Shark Tank, Cuban played the role of idea pitcher to the Wings guard, who had taken his place as the judgmental billionaire.

The studded shoes and sunglasses speak for themselves. On the other hand, it doesn’t seem like Cuban’s cuban sandwiches or interesting socks moves Ogunbowale, despite the clever pun and rhymes.

It’s a fun scenario, no doubt. However, it’s safe to say that Ogunbowale won’t be giving up on dominating the WNBA anytime soon.
